You did not read that wrong — according to GizChina, the Le 2S will include 8GB RAM, practically unheard of in the Android world. As we have seen with Samsung’s 2015 flagship phones and the OnePlus 3, however, the RAM amount does not matter as much as how it is utilized. Even so, the 8GB RAM will finally turn our dream of playing five games at the same time a reality.
Elsewhere, the Le 2S reportedly features a 5.5-inch display with an unknown resolution, though we can safely assume it will be at least 1080p. The quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor might power the phone, with the processor also sitting at the heart of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. LeEco’s alleged processor choice might make the Le 2S daydream-ready, Google’s term for devices that support its upcoming VR features that will be baked into the upcoming Android Nougat update.
The Le 2S also reportedly features 64GB of built-in storage, though we are not sure whether there is a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage.
If the Le 2S is anything like LeEco’s recent phones, it will feature a glass front and a metal back, with a fingerprint sensor presumably below the main camera. As far as the glass front is concerned, the Le 2S’s display looks to be curved on the sides with almost non-existent left and right bezels.
According to GizChina, LeEco will officially unveil the Le 2S either on September 7, which is when Apple is rumored to announce the iPhone 7, or September 8. Based on this, we expect the Le 2S to be available some short time after, but remember to take all of this information with a grain of salt.
