Rise of the Necromancer expansion pack for Diablo 3 launches June 27 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The pack, which brings back the Necromancer class — a Diablo 2 fan favorite — will be available on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live, and Blizzard shop for $15.

The Necromancer addition was originally announced at BlizzCon 2016, to much excitement from longtime Diablo fans.

“While players often ask us to bring back their favorite characters from our classic games, few classes have been requested as often, or as passionately, as the Necromancer,” Blizzard Entertainment CEO Mike Morhaime said. “Reimagining the Necromancer was a labor of love — we worked hard to capture the essence of what made the class so iconic, while taking advantage of everything Diablo 3 has to offer.”

In Diablo lore, necromancers are formally known as Priests of Rathma. Basically, they are dark sorcerers who wield the power of death. As such, playing as a necromancer in Diablo 3 will give you the ability to summon and direct armies of undead followers.

Along with the new class, players who purchase the pack will receive a new in-game pet, described as a “twisted and misshapen half-formed Golem.” Additionally, users will nab the Crypt Guardian’s wings as a cosmetic accessory, two more character slots, and the Necromancer banner, sigil, accent, portrait, and Blood Master pennant. PC players will also get two additional stash tabs.

If you’re a console gamer and you don’t already own Diablo 3, Blizzard will try and rope you into the world of Diablo with the Diablo 3: Eternal Collection. Launching on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the collection includes the base game, Reaper of Souls (the first expansion), and Rise of the Necromancer.

At launch on June 27, PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live subscribers can pick up the Diablo 3: Eternal Collection for $40. The regular retail price is set at $60 for nonsubscribers, and for those who don’t get in on the action early. It’s unclear how long the promotional period will last.

Blizzard also announced that the latest patch for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls and Diablo 3: Ultimate Edition owners will be available on June 27. Patch 2.6.0 adds a pair of new zones, Shrouded Moors and the Temple of the Firstborn, and the Realms of Fate, which will combine parts of existing zones. Challenge Rifts, weekly static events for the community composed from one player’s completed Greater Rift, round out the major content additions in the forthcoming patch.

Where to farm Crushed Beast Bones in Diablo 4
Diablo 4 characters facing off.

In Diablo 4, you'll need to collect a wide variety of items to increase your chance of survival, especially as you progress through the game. To acquire the Light Healing Potion -- which grants 141 life instantly and 35% of your max life over 3 seconds -- you'll first need to acquire 20 Gallowvines, 10 Biteberries, and five Crushed Beast Bones. However, finding Crushed Beast Bones can be tricky during the early stages of the game. In this guide, we'll show you exactly where to find Crushed Beast Bones in Diablo 4.
Where to find Crushed Beast Bones
There are actually multiple ways to earn Crushed Beast Bones, but most of them are luck-based. You can defeat Werecreatures, spiders, and other animals for a chance at acquiring the items you need, but the drop rate for Crushed Beast Bones is low. Specifically, you'll want to visit areas such as Fractured Peaks, Scosglen, and Dry Steppes.

The most consistent and easiest way to get Crushed Beast Bones is to visit the area in Scosglen marked on the map above. Head to that location and the Gaspar Stilbian enemy will appear.

Summer Game Fest returns just before E3 2023 next June
The official artwork confirming Summer Game Fest's return on June 8, 2023.

Geoff Keighley has confirmed when Summer Game Fest will return in June 2023. It will begin with a live kickoff show on June 8, 2023, placing Keighley's game announcement alternative less than a week before E3's grand (intended) 2023 return.
Unlike past years, Summer Game Fest Live Kickoff 2023 will feature a live audience, like Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards. It will take place in the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park, with tickets going on sale in early 2023. It will still be livestreamed across platforms like YouTube and Twitch, though. It's currently unknown who's participating, how long Summer Game Fest will run afterward, or if it will feature a Summer Game Fest Play Days-like element for fans. Still, Keighley says all of that info will be revealed ahead of the event next year, teasing what people can expect.
"In keeping with tradition, we'll have tons of exciting announcements from the developers that are pushing the games industry forward, and will once again highlight other publisher digital events, demos, and more surprises to be announced in the coming months," Keighley says in a press release.
That June 8 start date, and the other Summer Game Fest events likely to follow, put Keighley's show just ahead of E3 2023. The ESA and ReedPop plan to bring E3 back between June 13 and June 16, 2023. With five days of lead time on E3, Summer Game Fest can coexist with the long-running gaming conference and encompass the plethora of publisher showcases that tend to precede E3.
Geoff Keighley made it clear that he wants Summer Game Fest and E3 to coexist for a while. "We've had extensive conversations with ReedPop about E3," he said in an interview with Epic Games Store. "I think it'll kind of fit together and flow kind of from what we're doing into what they're doing and stuff. E3, to me, is this kind of master brand that represents gaming news in June."
With the start date of Summer Game Fest confirmed, the coexistence of these two summer gaming events is a reality. Summer Game Fest returns on June 8, 2023.
