DreamGear and NASCAR Team Up on Gaming Accessories

4-nascarWe’re surprised this hasn’t happened sooner—video game accessory maker dreamGear announced today it will be producing NASCAR-branded gaming gear for racing video games. DreamGear says its new racing wheels have a larger grip and lifelike feel and will be compatible with all PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii racing games. The company claims the two new NASCAR racing wheels for PS3 and Wii attach to or hold a Wii Controller or a PS3 wireless controller to make for a more genuine racing experience. These NASCAR inspired wheels will debut at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2010 and will be available in the first quarter of 2010 at dreamGEAR.net and most major retail stores.

“We are thrilled by this alliance, which will bring a new level of excitement to dreamGEAR’s line of video game accessories,” said COO Richard Weston. “We are flattered by the confidence that NASCAR has in dreamGEAR to combine their established national brand with ours, and we are confident based upon feedback from our retail partners that this new licensing partnership will have a significant and positive impact on dreamGEAR’s sales.”

Along with revealing the new name, we learned that the Animus Hub would include a battle pass with cosmetics that can be purchased with Isu Coins, the in-game currency. This led to people assuming that there would be microtransactions involved.
