Rapid completion of first 'Destiny 2' raid granted a gift to all Guardians

Less than six hours after the Leviathan raid went live, a mighty Fireteam crossed the finish line, slaying the final boss just after 6:30 p.m. ET on September 13. Bungie announced the feat on Twitter dubbing the clan “The Legend Himself” as the first to successfully complete Destiny 2‘s hardest challenge thus far. If you are currently raiding or will be soon, beware that the video below shows the final boss (in case you want to be surprised).

Even though the accomplishment belongs to the folks who make up The Legend Himself, all Destiny 2 players have reason to celebrate their victory. The completion of the raid triggered a new Crucible map, Emperor’s Respite, available now for all Guardians.

Destiny 2 has only been available for a week, leaving not much time for players to get raid ready. In order to enter Leviathan, your power level needs to be at least 260, although 270 or more is recommended (300 is the current max).

Those who participated in raids in the original know how grueling they can be. The clan who just completed Leviathan has a solid track record for completing Raids in remarkably short periods of time. According to Polygon, The Legend Himself nearly finished Wrath of the Machine, a Rise of Iron raid, first. That raid was completed in a blisteringly fast two hours.

The sub-six-hour completion time notches in around previous fastest raid completions. After the first ever Destiny raid Vault of Glass took roughly 14 hours to be beat, the best Destiny players have significantly decreased their fastest times. The Dark Below‘s Crota’s End raid was completed in right around six hours, while The Taken King‘s King’s Fall was conquered in around seven hours.

Destiny 2 is already shaping up to be what many expected Destiny to be. During launch week, we questioned whether the quality of Destiny 2 really mattered to the players who stuck with the original for years. Thankfully, as we continued to play we realized that Destiny 2 is a much more immersive and exciting experience than the original.

Seasoned Destiny 2 players know they can count on the elusive merchant Xur to make an appearance with special exotic items every Friday, but what's not so clear is where you'll be able to find him. Below, you'll find a map with a marker that indicates where Xur is, as well as a list of his wares.

Who is Xur?
If you're new to Destiny 2 and need a bit more information about how this works, you should know that Xur is a special vendor who sells exotic weapons and armor. Each week, he comes to the solar system with a slate of goods, including an exotic weapon and one piece of exotic armor for each character class. As of The Witch Queen, he now stocks legendary armor and weapons and sells additional exotic weapons with random rolls every week.
Where to find Xur (December 30 to January 2)
The trouble with Xur is finding him. We always know when Xur will show up -- at the 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET reset each Friday. The question is where Xur will be. Previously in Destiny 2, Xur’s location was marked on the map. He’s now unmarked and harder to find each weekend. The first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Raid known as Atomgrad is available now as part of the Season 1 Reloaded update. This Raid sends groups of three players into an underground tunnel to solve a series of puzzles while surviving waves of enemies. It's a mostly linear experience with a few tricky parts along the way. In this guide, we'll show you how to complete the Atomgrad Raid in Modern Warfare II.
First code puzzle
As soon as you start, make your way through the linear path ahead, while taking out enemies silently. If you're spotted, you'll have to deal with an all-out assault, so try your best not to be seen. Head straight and to the right and you'll come to a room with a terminal that has Russian letters on it, a set of TVs, a keypad, and a red button that opens a door.

This is one of the trickiest parts of the Raid, but it's straightforward once you know what to do. Open the door, have one player go inside the little room, and then make sure two of your three players are interacting with the TV feed. Scroll through the feed until you reach a screen that looks like the one below, featuring a projector and a set of Russian letters and numbers.

It's that spooky time of the year, and what better way to celebrate than with some limited-time events in every Guardian's favorite game? As is the tradition at this point, Destiny 2 is embracing the holiday season with a limited-time event with exclusive themed rewards around the Halloween holiday. The entire tower will be getting a spooky makeover, but the really exciting part is, of course, the special event and rewards you can earn.

Called the Festival of the Lost, this event is technically still part of the current Season of Plunder but is available for all players for free, regardless of what expansions they have or have not purchased. While Bungie hasn't fully outlined all the specifics of how Festival of the Lost will work, there have been some details shared, plus a couple of leaks, to sink our teeth into.
