Disney Plus has quickly grown into one of the best streaming services in the world y delivering some of the best movies and shows on TV. It’s the gateway for massive movie franchises from the likes of Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel, as well as contemporary and classic Disney properties from Snow White to Moana.

Disney+ is also the home base for monolithic Star Wars and Marvel spinoff TV series, from The MandalorianAhsoka, and newcomer The Acolyte to Wanda Vision, Loki, and Secret Invasion, making it a good choice if you want to get immersed into all those worlds and more. If you’re considering subscribing, here’s what you need to know about the streaming service’s pricing, plans, and special features.

All you can stream: $10 or $160

There are two ways to get Disney+ — and only Disney+. You can purchase Disney+ Basic for $10 per month or Disney+ Premium for $16 monthly. If you choose the latter, you can save some cash by paying for a year of service upfront for $160. The difference between each package is ads; one plan has them, and the other does not.

There’s no minimum commitment to get these prices; you can cancel anytime.

While the Disney+ catalog isn’t yet as deep or as wide as that of Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, Disney makes sure you’ll get a lot of great features to compensate as it grows its content choices.

Every account can stream in Full HD, 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and IMAX Enhanced, depending on the title and streaming device. Dolby Atmos also makes an appearance, though titles that support this fantastic surround-sound format are limited to newer productions.

You can run up to four simultaneous streams, which should help when the family can’t decide what to watch. With up to seven user profiles per account, you won’t have any trouble keeping recommendations relevant for every family member, and it’s unlikely you’ll hear screaming over who raced ahead on the latest season of your chosen binge show.

Even more with Hulu and ESPN+

But wait, there’s more. Because Disney owns Hulu via its purchase of 21st Century Fox, you can add a Disney+ subscription to your Hulu account. Disney also owns a majority share of one of the biggest sports broadcasting brands, ESPN. But if you sign up for Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu, you can save on separate costs for these services.

  • Disney Bundle Duo Basic, which includes Disney+ and Hulu (both with ads) for $11 per month.
  • Disney Bundle Duo Premium, which includes Disney + and Hulu (both with no ads), is available for $20 per month.
  • Disney Bundle Trio Basic with sports, which includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ (all with ads) for $17 per month.
  • Disney Bundle Trio Premium with Disney+, Hulu (with no ads), and ESPN+ (with ads) for $27 monthly.
  • Legacy Disney Bundle: Disney+ (no ads), Hulu (with ads), ESPN+ (with ads) for $22 a month — note that this plan is only for existing subscribers who already have it; it’s not open to anyone else.

That said, if you need Disney content for your children and sports or more mature content for adults, these bundles are valuable. You will have these services at a discounted price through one interface.

Is the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ bundle worth it?

Whether or not the triple bundle is worth it ultimately depends on whether you will use all three.

  • Disney+ Basic (with ads) currently costs $10 per month.
  • Hulu’s basic ad-supported plan (the one in the duo and triple bundles) costs $10 monthly.
  • ESPN+ also costs $12 per month

That’s $32 if you get all three individually. A bundle will save you significant money per month — if you’re a sports fan and plan on getting streaming services for the family, it’s a good deal.

How to get Disney+ for free

There is no longer a Disney+ free trial. Disney+ previously offered a free trial option to new subscribers, but as it is now one of the most popular streaming services, it has removed the free trial for new customers. There is still one option to get Disney+ for free:

Verizon

You could be in luck if you aren’t interested in paying for the Disney+ service but are a Verizon customer. All current and new can get six months’ worth of Disney+ for free. When the six months end, though, the deal is up, and Disney+ will start charging users the regular subscription costs, so be sure to unsubscribe if you’re uninterested in the service or if it doesn’t fit your budget. You may find that the service is well worth the price.
