Lenovo’s Thinkpad X1 Yoga laptop gets a huge $1,840 discount with this deal

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga review
Mark Coppock/Digital Trends

Of all the computer brands on the market in 2019, few have proven as long-lasting as the iconic ThinkPad. Born in the ‘90s, IBM’s ThinkPad PCs were among the earliest consumer laptops out there, but ones that were specifically aimed at professionals and other tech enthusiasts (for whom the ThinkPad name still sits on a pedestal). Lenovo acquired the modern brand in 2005, and since then, the China-based company has kept it nicely updated, with the X series featuring a lot of cutting-edge ultrabooks and 2-in-1s like the ThinkPad X1 Yoga – which is on sale right now at a massive discount when you use the promo code: THINKDEALS.

The X series has always represented the “bleeding edge” of the ThinkPad line, featuring smaller, slimmer, and lighter laptops that were compact alternatives to the more standard-sized T series machines. Voted one of the best laptops from CES 2019, it’s packed with a number of updates. In 2019, the X-series ThinkPads have all but supplanted the T-series as ultrabooks and 2-in-1 laptops have increasingly become the norm, with models like the X1 Carbon, X1 Extreme, and X1 Yoga representing some of the most advanced designs to be found in modern Windows PCs.

At a glance, the X1 Yoga is very clearly a ThinkPad, right down to details like the classic brand badge, all-black design, and little red TrackPoint joystick (which many ThinkPad veterans will tell you is much more enjoyable than a trackpad once you get used to it). The ThinkPad X1 Yoga also boasts the solid build quality these PCs are known for along with a gorgeous Quad HD display.

But what really sets the ThinkPad X1 Yoga apart from the rest of the Windows laptop herd is its 2-in-1 capabilities. The display of this versatile hybrid laptop can fold flat on its hinge, letting you use the touchscreen like a tablet. The X1 Yoga has it where it counts under the hood, too, with an Intel Core i7-8650U and 16GB of RAM for great performance, plus a 512GB SSD which gives you plenty of high-speed storage.

This configuration of the third-gen ThinkPad X1 Yoga is high-end hardware and retails for a steep $3,439. However, Lenovo has it on sale right now at an eye-popping discount: The checkout code THINKDEALS knocks a massive $1,840 off that retail price, letting you score this great 2-in-1 ultrabook for a much more reasonable $1,599 right now.

Lenovo knocks $1,080 off one of it’s best Chromebooks
ThinkPad C14 Chromebook

While Windows laptops are great, they tend to be quite pricey if you want to grab something that's more powerful and can handle more tasks. If you don't want to spend that much cash, one other great option is to grab yourself a Chromebook since it runs on ChromeOS and is a lot lighter than Windows. One great example is the ThinkPad C14 Chromebook from Lenovo, and there is even a solid deal directly from Lenovo that knocks the original $1,559 price down to just $479. That's a significant $1,080 discount on the usual price, and while Lenovo sometimes overestimates the MSRP value of its laptops, this is still an excellent deal regardless.

Why you should buy this ThinkPad C14 Chromebook
Something that's pretty unique about this configuration of the ThinkPad C14 Chromebook is that it comes with an Intel Core i7-1265U vPro processor under the hood and a mid-to-high-end CPU that's probably more powerful than ChromeOS needs. Still, that means that you can pretty much do anything with this ThinkPad C14, and it will handle the job, making it a great option for productivity or school work, while the 14-inch FHD screen means that it's easy to carry around with you. Even more impressively, it comes with a fingerprint reader, so it's great for those who need multi-factor authentication to do work or access files. You don't have to carry an external reader or key, saving you a bit of extra carrying space.
