For season 4, week 7 of Fortnite, Epic Games has added a new list of challenges for you to get through. The challenge we’ll be tackling in this guide is the one for dealing 1,000 damage to an opponent after using Storm’s Whirlwind Blast. It’s not terribly difficult, and, in fact, it’s a lot like last week’s challenge for dealing damage after using Black Panther’s Kinetic Shockwave. But if you’re stuck, you’ve come to the right place, because we’ll show you how to get your hands on Storm’s Whirlwind Blast, how to use it, and, most importantly, we’ll show you the best way to deal damage quickly after using the power-up.
Here’s how to deal damage after using Storm’s Whirlwind Blast in Fortnite.

How to acquire Storm’s Whirlwind Blast
The first thing you need to do is actually get your hands on Storm’s Whirlwind Blast, which is easier said than done. The reason is that it’s not a common power-up, and you must get to it before your opponents do. Since the challenge just went live, many players will likely flock to the power-up when it appears, making it hard to acquire. To start, begin a match in either Marvel Knockout or Marvel Takeover, as those are the only game modes that feature hero power-ups.
We recommend playing Marvel Takeover because power-ups appear more frequently, and there are more enemies to attack. If this mode is too hectic for you, it’s a good idea to try out Marvel Knockout instead. If you play Marvel Takeover, you’ll have many chances to grab the Whirlwind Blast power-up, which will spawn randomly around the map. It’s indicated by a tornado icon and will be mapped to L1 on PlayStation 4, L on Nintendo Switch, or LB on Xbox One. It looks like this:
The nice thing about Marvel Takeover is that you can continuously respawn, and Storm’s Whirlwind Blast will remain on you even after you die. This means all you have to do is grab it once, and you’re good for the entirety of the match (as long as you don’t swap it out). If someone gets to the power-up before you do, you don’t need to quit out because you’ll have more opportunities to grab another later on in the match. Keep moving along as the map migrates, and you’ll eventually come across it.
How to deal damage after using Storm’s Whirlwind Blast
Once you’ve got your hands on Storm’s Whirlwind Blast, the hard part is mostly over. At this point, track down an enemy and run toward them. As soon as you’re close enough, initiate Storm’s Whirlwind Blast, and you’ll briefly whip up a tornado that causes your opponent to be knocked back. As soon as the blast connects with your enemy, run after them and begin attacking. If you’re lucky, you’ll have some sort of long-range attack available to use, but otherwise, you’ll need to run over to them to strike them up close. The move you spawn in with is random, so sometimes you’ll have Iron Man’s blast, while other times you’ll have Wolverine’s claws — but it’s always random.
Since you have to deal 1,000 damage, you’ll need to perform this maneuver on around three enemies, assuming they all have close to full health. By default, players spawn with 400 health (200 base health and 200 for shields). So, be prepared to engage with at least three enemies to finish this challenge. The other thing to note is that you have a limited window to actually cause damage after you’ve used the Whirlwind Blast. It’s several seconds, but don’t waste any time after pushing an enemy back with Storm’s power-up.
And if you don’t manage to deal 1,000 damage in one match, your progress does save, so boot up another round to try again. Though, as long as you grab the power-up within five minutes of the match starting, you should have plenty of time to deal enough damage after using it. Remember to bring some friends with you to make it easier to track down Storm’s Whirlwind Blast power-up and to help lure enemies toward you once you’ve acquired it. If you’re having trouble, it might be a good idea to wait a few days to attempt this challenge, as it’s quite difficult to get your hands on the power-up currently.
