Dirt 5, Wreckfest, and more join Xbox Game Pass library in February

Microsoft has announced the next batch of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in February, and it includes racing games Dirt 5 and Wreckfest. Several Cloud games get touch control compatibility this month as well.

Dirt 5 lands on PC, console, and Microsoft’s cloud service on February 25. The racing game launched just before the Xbox Series X late last year and was considered a showcase of the next-gen console’s power. The game can be played in an impressive 120 Hz mode that offers clearer visuals. Its predecessor, Dirt 4, leaves Game Pass on February 24.

Wreckfest hits console, PC, and Cloud on February 18. The “full-contact” driving game is all about smashing cars together to create massive crashes, making it Game Pass’ answer to the PS Plus’ Destruction AllStars.

Also notable among the new additions is Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire — Ultimate Edition. The critically acclaimed RPG is from Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind Fallout: New Vegas. The game hits Cloud and console on February 18.

PC players get a pair of sci-fi hits this month. Bandai Namco’s action game Code Vein arrives on the service on February 18, while indie Superhot: Mind Control Delete lands on February 25.

Rounding out the list of new additions is Killer Black Queen, an indie action platformer that hits console and Cloud on February 23, and multiplayer space exploration game Elite Dangerous, which hits all Xbox consoles on February 25.

In addition to the new titles, seven Cloud games will get touch control support on February 18. The list includes Neoverse, Spiritfarer, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, and more.

Xbox is getting rid of its standalone Game Pass app

All of Xbox's mobile features will soon be under just one app. Microsoft announced Wednesday that it'll be moving Game Pass features into the regular Xbox app for beta users starting this week.

This signals the end of Xbox Game Pass app as a separate entity. Game Pass functionality, like searching the catalog or grabbing perks for Game Pass Ultimate members, will be in the main Xbox app. The move also means the Game Pass app will no longer be available for new download beginning in November.

Following up on its Sky Cipher special edition Xbox Wireless Controller, Microsoft has announced a full series of transparent controllers now available for preorder.

The Cipher Series Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 comes in six different color options. The white Ghost Cipher is the most transparent-looking, but there are also Velocity Cipher, Astral Cipher, Surf Cipher, Candy Cipher, and Pulse Cipher, which are Xbox green, purple, blue, pink, and red, respectively. You can mix and match D-pad, button, joystick, and trigger colors, and get your own in the Design Lab. A base model will cost $150, and be wary of any add-ons that might up the price more than you'd like.
