Monster Hunter Rise 2.0 is a free update that will launch for Nintendo Switch on April 28. Most notably, it will include five new monsters: Chameleos, Apex Diablos, Apex Rathalos, and new Elder Dragons Teostra and Kushala Daora. At the end of the presentation, Capcom looked ahead at the future of Rise, noting that update 3.0 will be available at the end of May 2021. This 3.0 update will feature new monsters to take down, though it’s unknown if they’ll be new monsters or returning creatures from previous installments.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin received its third trailer, which showed off some of its new characters and a look at the Razewing Ratha. Capcom took a deep dive into the game’s combat, which will feature a rock-paper-scissors-style battle system.

There’s a crossover planned between both games. Players with Monster Hunter Rise save data will gain access to the Hunter’s Kamura armor in Monster Hunter Stories 2. Similarly, your Monster Hunter Stories 2 save data will net you the Default Rider armor in Monster Hunter Rise.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will launch for Nintendo Switch on July 9, 2021.

Capcom and Niantic are collaborating on Monster Hunter Now, a new, real-world mobile RPG following in the footsteps of titles like Pokémon Go and NBA All-World. Players will be able to explore their neighborhood, alone or with friends, find materials, and fight monsters at locations near them. An open beta for the game begins later this month ahead of a full launch in September, but that comes after a four-year development cycle and a lot of work in refining the core gameplay loop of Monster Hunter into a very different style of game.

persona 4 golden 500000 players all out attack

Microsoft revealed the games coming to and leaving Xbox Game Pass this month, and there's an odd imbalance. Only three new games are announced to be coming to the service throughout the rest of January. Still, we will lose six games on January 15, including last year's indie hidden gem Nobody Saves the World and We Happy Few, a title from first-party Xbox studio Compulsion Games.
As for what's coming to Xbox Game Pass throughout the rest of January, we have three highly anticipated Xbox ports that are day-one launches on the subscription service. Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will come to the service on January 19, while Monster Hunter Rise will be added on January 20. All three games will be available across the cloud, console, and PC versions of the service. Meanwhile, the what's leaving on January 15 list is double the length of what's being added:

We Happy Few
Nobody Saves the World
Windjammers 2
The Anacrusis
Pupperazzi
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc
