It hasn’t been a particularly stellar year for Japanese auto manufacturers in terms of the little things like keeping customers alive. Toyota has done its best to trash it reputation, and now Nissan, which owns the Infiniti brand, has announced that a connector in the G35 sedans and coups could be faulty, which would prevent the air bags from deploying.
The wire harness on 2005 to 2007 G35 Coupes, and 2005 to 2006 G35 Sedans can wear down and interrupt the air bag’s signal. If the signal degrades too far, the air bag will not deploy during a crash.
According to ABC News, a spokesman for Nissan has confirmed that there have been no injuries reported, and that if the vehicle’s red air bag warning light goes on, owners should bring their cars into a dealership for repair.
For cars that do not display the warning light, Nissan and Infiniti will notify the owners of the issue, and let them know to take their car in to the shop.
