Vudu lands on the PlayStation 3

Now that the PlayStation Move is out the door, Sony figures it’s time to turn the PS3 from an exercise-inducing body-moving system back into the couch-potato fantasy that was always intended: Sony and Vudu have announced that Vudu high-definition streaming movies will be available next week in the United States. Tapping into Vudu won’t require a subscription (you pay per individual movie), but does require a PlayStation Network registration to get up and running—PS3 owners just need to go to the PlayStation Store and download the free Vudu application.

Vudu offers high-definition films for instant rental and purchase, streaming to users in HD and HDX 1080p formats, often with 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus surround sound. Vudu carries many recent releases the same day they’re released on DVD or Blu-ray. The Vudu application also enables users to recommend movies and programming to friends via integrated social networking tools.

The deal makes the PS3 the only gaming console to offer Vudu streaming movies.

Before the end of the year, Vudu is promising to upgrade the PlayStation 3 application to support Vudu 2.0, a revamped version of the Vudu interface that aims to improve basic browsing and navigation, as well as deliver content recommendations based on a user’s viewing history.

Vudu rental fees typically range from $3.99 to $5.99 (although they can dip as low as $0.99), depending on the resolution of the movies. Many movie titles are available to own for fees typically ranging from $9.99 to $19.99, with extremes as low as $4.99 and as high as $24.99.

AirPods 3 and Pro 2 are still on sale after Prime Day
Apple AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C and MagSafe review

The world of wireless earbuds is dominated by several major brands, one of which is the almighty Apple. Renowned for everything from phones and laptops to tablets and desktop computers, Apple’s in-ear audio lineup is enjoyed by both casual listeners and even some audiophiles. We’re referring specifically to the Apple AirPods, and there are two models that are still marked down to Prime Day prices:

When you purchase through Amazon, you can buy the Apple AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C for $170 (normally priced at $250) and the Apple AirPods 3 for $120 (normally $170). The Pro 2 model is Apple’s current flagship for in-ear audio, and the AirPods 3 are an exceptional choice for those who dig the latest AirPods redesign but would rather not pay for noise canceling. These are great Apple deals that we're excited to talk about!

Walmart is trying to get rid of the Beats Studio 3 post-Prime Day
A woman wearing the Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones while outdoors.

Walmart slashed the price of the Beats Studio 3 with a $221 discount for its Prime Day deals, but you can still get the wireless headphones for that much cheaper even after the shopping holiday has ended. They're still down to a very affordable $129 from their original price of $350, so it appears that Walmart is trying to offload all its stock of the wireless headphones. That may happen sooner than you expect though, so if you're interested in this bargain, you need to complete the purchase immediately.

Why you should buy the Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones
Beats is one of the most popular names for wireless headphones, and you'll be able to see why with the Beats Studio 3. They will let you listen to your favorite playlists and watch streaming shows with excellent sound quality, and they offer pure adaptive noise canceling technology so that you won't be disturbed by what's going on around you. The wireless headphones are powered by Apple's W1 chip, which enables a battery life of up to 22 hours with ANC activated and up to 40 hours with the feature deactivated. The chip also makes pairing the Beats Studio 3 with Apple devices extremely easy, but of course they're also compatible with other Bluetooth devices.
