Movie studio Miramax has inked a multi-year deal with video streaming service Hulu that will see hundreds of Miramax films available for streaming to Hulu Plus subscribers, along with a rotating set of 15 movies available to non-subscribers through ad-supported streaming. Miramax films included in the deal include acclaimed movies like Good Will Hunting, Pulp Fiction, The English Patient, and My Left Foot; the companies claim hundreds of the movies will be available in high-definition.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Making our films available via premium digital distribution channels is extremely important,” said Miramax CEO Mike Lang, in a statement. “As one of the early promoters of Hulu and its CEO Jason Kilar, I couldn’t be more excited than to be in business with them today, and we’re thrilled about the prospect of enhancing both our brands by making our films accessible to Hulu’s fast-growing audience.”
Earlier this month, Miramax announced a multi-year streaming deal Netflix; again, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Miramax spun free from Walt Disney late last year and has distribution deals with Studiocanal and Lionsgate.
