Scorn is an obtuse game in just about every sense of the word. Right from the start, you'll be thrown into a nightmarish world of disturbing icons, harsh landscapes, and a brutal sense of dread with no direction. To make matters worse, this alien environment is a nightmare to navigate easily. Nothing is recognizable, which makes the prospect of solving puzzles even more daunting.

How to solve the egg puzzle

Once you've seen the door you're trying to open and have taken the lift up to the higher level, it's time to start tinkering with the alien technology to figure out what the heck you're even supposed to do.

Step 1: Interact with the control "panel" thing.

Step 2: Navigate the crane over and move the red egg to the top left slot by creating a path by shifting the other eggs out of the way.

Step 3: Exit the crane and interact with the central panel to activate the bigger crane.

Step 4: This will cause the egg to explode, creating more room on the grid.

Step 5: Return to the first panel.

Step 6: Once in place, repeat the same process with the central panel.

Step 7: This will release a creature from inside the egg.

Step 8: Follow it back down to the first room and interact with the console.

Step 9: The egg will be placed on a cart, which the console sends down the track.

Step 10: At this point, you have two choices.

Step 11: First, use the console at the center platform to open the track toward the big scooping device and harvest the hand from what remains.

Step 12: The other option is to send the cart all the way to the last station and use the crane to put the egg in the chair and activate the saw to release the creature inside.

Step 13: Either way, take the hand, or entire being, to the locked door and interact with the console to open it and continue your journey.

How to get the Mermaid Pendant in Stardew Valley
A wedding in Stardew Valley. The player characters is marrying Haley, who's in a bridal gown. They're standing underneath an arch with all the townsfolk watching.

Unlike in games like Stardew Valley, there are no tips and tricks you can check for how to get someone to marry you. It is a lot more complicated than learning someone's favorite gift and giving it to them until they love you, sadly. What is easy is knowing how to get a ring when you are ready to propose, but that's not how it works in this farming sim.

Instead of a ring, you need to get a Mermaid Pendant when you're ready to pop the question, but this isn't something you can pick up at the local jewelry store or even the elusive Bookseller. If you want to commit to your relationship for good, here's how to get a Mermaid Pendant.

How to get Refined Quartz in Stardew Valley
Fighting slimes in the mines of Stardew Valley.

Besides the basics of farming and giving gifts to other villagers in Stardew Valley, one of the first tips and tricks you learn is the importance of mining. Unless you are willing to use some cheats, this is the only way to get the proper materials to craft new and better versions of items. Quartz is a very common material that you can find almost anywhere, but Refined Quartz takes a few extra steps to get. It isn't hard once you know how it's done, and it will open up tons of new possibilities, so let's learn how to get Refined Quartz as fast as possible.
How to get Refined Quartz

There are three basic ways you can approach getting your hands on Refined Quartz. The first is by far the easiest and most reliable, so long as you have a furnace, some regular Quartz, and coal. If you don't have a furnace, you can make one with just 25 stone and 20 copper. Drop your coal into the furnace with coal powering it and leave it for half an in-game hour. Once it has been smelted, you will get a bar of Refined Quartz. However, if you find some Fire Quartz and smelt it, then you will get three Refined Quartz instead of just one.

How to find Iridium in Stardew Valley
A player in a mine in Stardew Valley.

While there are a ton of useful tips and tricks to learn early on about Stardew Valley, it is the late-game challenges that tend to be the most difficult. It is easy enough to figure out the best gifts for each villager, but hidden or rare items like Powdermelon and Meowmere feel like players need to help each other out to find them. Iridium ore is a material you will need for some of the game's best upgrades, but it isn't just lying around. Let's dig deep and find every source of Iridium in Stardew Valley.
Where to find Iridium

Despite how rare it is, there are actually several sources for Iridium in Stardew Valley you can try depending on your style. Some methods have better odds than others, but also carry greater risks. These are the most reliable ways.
The Skull Cavern
The most obvious way to get Iridium is to mine it from Iridium nodes. But these special rocks only spawn in the Quarry, Skull Cavern, and Volcano Dungeon. The most efficient of these is easily the Skull Cavern, so long as you are well-equipped. The deeper you go into this endless dungeon, the more likely Iridium nodes spawn for you to mine. On top of that, Iridium Bats and Iridium Crabs that spawn here also have a small chance of dropping the ore when killed.
The Mines
If the standard mines are more your speed, you can still get Iridium here, but only between floors 115 and 119. You will be looking for Magma and Omni Geodes to mine, both of which have a chance of rewarding you with Iridium.
Fill your pond
A risk-free way to try and get Iridium is by filling a pond with nine Super Cucumbers. Once you hit that number, there's a chance you can get between 1 and 3 Iridium.
Visit the Traveling Cart
If you've got more luck and gold than anything else, the Traveling Cart will rarely sell Iridium for anywhere between 300 and 1,000g.
