Possibly feeling the pressure from its recent player exodus, World of Warcraft is punching up its promotional campaign… literally.

A new television ad for the popular MMO puts Chuck Norris in the role of World of Warcraft pitchman, and offers a peek at what his character would look like if he made the jump from larger-than-life action hero to in-game “hunter.” The commercial features Norris’ digital alter ego beating up orcs and delivering his famous roundhouse kick to massive beasts, reinforced gates, and anything else that gets in his way.

As the ad correctly points out, however, “Chuck Norris does not hunt. Hunting would imply the possibility of failure.”

The commercial premiered during last night’s NFL matchup between the Chicago Bears and San Diego Chargers, so you’ll likely to see more of it in the coming weeks.

Warcraft Rumble devs are ready to learn from their mistakes

Before he worked on Warcraft Rumble, its associate game director, Adam Kugler, did not play many mobile games.

Kugler was lead class designer on World of Warcraft, and at one point during Warcraft Rumble's development, he went to lunch with game director Tom Chilton to get some advice. While Kugler wanted to get guidance on where to take the MMO next, Chilton pitched working on Warcraft Rumble to Kugler and convinced him to check out some mobile games and get a better idea of the space. When he returned on Monday, Kugler had been won over by the idea of a Warcraft mobile game and jumped ship from World of Warcraft to work on a new title shortly after that.

When is BlizzCon 2023

BlizzCon 2023 will be broadcast live this weekend on November 3 and November 4. As you can see in the schedule above, the first day's festivities begin with the BlizzCon 2023 Opening Ceremony at 11 a.m. PT today, with various deep dives and what's next discussions following every hour from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. PT. Then day two kicks off with World of Warcraft: Deep Dive at 12 p.m. PT on November 4, with more segments to follow. BlizzCon's broadcast caps off with a Le Sserafim appearance at 6:15 p.m. on November 4.

You may not have known it, but the year's biggest sports tournament is about to hold its final. No, it's not baseball and the World Series; it's the 2022 League of Legends World Championship. The popular e-sports contest, which sees players from around the world compete to become the champion of the popular Riot Games video game League of Legends, has been running for just over a decade, and shows no signs of waning.
