Crytek’s TimeSplitters 4 seen running in the wild

Free Radical. There was a time, about ten years back, when that name meant something in the video game world. A studio formed by former Rare Ltd. staffers that had worked on games like Goldeneye 007, Free Radical made some unusual action titles for the original Xbox, the PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Gamecube. Chief among them were the TimeSplitters games, great console first-person shooters that blended tight action with a solid sense of humor. The company was working on a fourth TimeSplitters before going belly up in 2008 and getting eaten up by Crysis creators Crytek the following year, but little has been heard about the game since. Being the sequel-happy folk they are though, word is Crytek is working on TimeSplitters 4 alongside Crysis 3.

Magazine OXM (via CVG) reported in their latest issue that sources claim they’ve actually seen Timeplitters 4 running and that HD re-releases of the first three games will likely release alongside the new game.

TimeSplitters 4 rumors have been popping up with increasing frequency as of late. Reports from Video Gamer.com and others in the summer of 2011 claimed that sources inside Crytek said the game is in the works. Cinema Blend reported in September though that what was originally planned to be TimeSplitters 4 was cancelled prior to Free Radical shutting its doors in 2008.

TimeSplitters revival in the works by its original developer

The TimeSplitters series is coming back. Publisher Deep Silver announced that Free Radical Design, the team behind the original entries in the series, is "reforming." It's unknown if this will serve as a continuation of the series or a reboot, but was is clear is that it will be created by many of its original developers.

TimeSplitters is a sci-fi first-person shooter series that was popular in the early 2000s. A fourth installment was in the works around 2007, but the project was placed on hold after Free Radical was bought by Crytek.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will be hitting the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 2, Activision announced on Monday. The game, which is currently available for pre-order, will take place after the events of the 1998 release Crash Bandicoot: Warped and antagonists Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy, and Uka Uka were left stranded on a distant planet.

It won't be long into Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl that you encounter your first weapon jam. Whether you're fighting mutant dogs or enemy bandits, the last thing you want to hear when lining up a shot is the clicking of your weapon despite still having plenty of ammo. The more you use your weapons, the lower their durability becomes and the more likely you are to experience a jam. You don't have the skills to repair or upgrade your weapons yourself, and Stalker 2 is more than willing to let you miss out on finding the places to do it. How to upgrade and repair weapons

You can see how beaten down your weapon is in the inventory by highlighting it or based on the color of the broken shield icon. If that icon appears at all, you can expect jams to start popping up.
