How to pick a refrigerator on Cyber Week
There are two main things to consider when buying a refrigerator: size and style.
For size, you can think large scale and consider a mini fridge versus a regular fridge, but more likely you are going to be thinking if it fits in the area you have, what depth to get, and the interior size. Counter-depth refrigerators are becoming increasingly popular as they are more flush with your “wall” (counters aren’t technically walls, but you get the point) and can reduce tripping hazards, which is especially important for the youngest and oldest members of your household. However, they often come with less interior space — though this is changing and some models have thinner walls with better insulation to increae space.
Then, consider style. Do you want smart features, is an external water and ice dispenser a necessity for you, and where should the freezer be? Ask yourself these questions (there are no right answers) but try to be flexible if you see something that’s the right price but isn’t perfect in every other way.
How we chose these refrigerator deals for Cyber Week
First, we scoured every possible spot for Black Friday refrigerator deals, from Samsung to LG, from Amazon to Best Buy, and came up with a suitable list of candidates.
Then, we tried to get reasonable products off all major brands and styles represented, with a good array of (great) prices so that everyone can participate.
Finally, we looked for off-the-beaten path items (i.e. mini fridges) and searched for any decent deals in that category, as a surprising amount of problems that you’d usually need a fridge to solve can be fixed with a mini fridge, and at a fraction of the cost.
