This Apple Watch X concept is absolutely absurd

Later this year or in 2025, Apple is expected to release the tenth-generation Apple Watch, which could be called the “Apple Watch X” — similar to how the 10th iPhone was named the iPhone X. This release is highly anticipated, and third-party designers are already creating concepts for it. One such design has caught our attention.

Designer Lukas Gehrer at the German design agency Wordsmattr came up with an extraordinary concept. It’s a fun design that’s quite over the top. The Apple Watch X design looks much like the Apple Watch Ultra 2, but with thinner and curved edges. It’s made of dark titanium, different from the natural titanium used in the current Apple Watch Ultra and its predecessor. A Space Gray or Space Black titanium Apple Watch has also been long-rumored, but hasn’t happened yet.

Gehrer has developed an innovative concept for the Apple Watch X. As you can see, it includes a built-in camera for FaceTime and a blood pressure sensor. The blood pressure sensor has been rumored to be a new feature coming to the Apple Watch in the near future. However, the built-in camera for FaceTime is something entirely new and exciting that we haven’t heard about before. If true, it would be a remarkable addition to the Apple Watch.

In September, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said this year’s Apple Watches could involve a significant overhaul. Whether that includes any of the features mentioned here remains to be seen. My hope is that in addition to a blood pressure monitor, we also see a blood sugar monitor arrive on the wearable device for the first time. If Apple really wants to go all-out for the Apple Watch X, that would be the way to do it.

Regardless of what actually happens with the Apple Watch X — and whether or not it looks anything remotely like this concept — it’s fun to speculate about what such a major Apple Watch release will look like. And as far as Apple Watch concepts go, this sure is a fun one.

There’s little doubt that the Apple Watch has become one of the most popular wearables. While it wasn’t the first smartwatch on the market by a long shot, Apple’s wearable seemed to find its stride more quickly than many of its rivals.

That’s not to say that the competition isn’t heating up. This year’s Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra are worthy contenders thanks to improved performance and new health features. Nevertheless, the Apple Watch has had a cozy lead, erven though it sometimes feels like Apple is coasting by adding only iterative improvements each year.

Consumer group sues Apple for $3.8 billion over alleged iCloud monopoly

Independent U.K. consumer rights association Which? has filed a massive legal claim of 3 billion British pounds (nearly $3.8 billion) against Apple, claiming it has breached competition law and locked its customers into its expensive iCloud cloud storage service. It says if the claim is successful, 40 million Apple device owners in the U.K could be entitled to money back.

If you haven’t heard of Which? before, it’s made up of two different companies. The Consumers Association, is a charity that campaigns for the protection of consumers and the understanding of consumer issues while also working to ensure businesses meet the law. The second company is Which? Limited, a website producing content and services around products to help people choose what’s best for them.

The Pixel Watch is about to get a long-awaited software update

For the most part, Google has issued an update to the Pixel Watch roughly once a month. Most were simple security updates, while others included new features and OS upgrades. Fans expected an update in October, but Google delayed it until this month. This update will resume the rollout of Wear OS 5 to Pixel Watch 1 and Pixel Watch 2 users after a series of crashes caused Google to pause it back in September. After several months of work, the company has addressed the cause of the crashes and is confident that yesterday's update will be stable.

In addition to Wear OS 5, the update will also include better camera controls and changes to the Pixel Recorder app, which will be available through the Play Store. Your individual watch will notify you when the update is available for download, so you don't have to constantly check for it. The first update for the Pixel Watch 3 since its launch is also coming with bug fixes and security updates. All Pixel Watch models will eventually update to version AW2A.241105.012, although when the update happens will depend on both the carrier and the device.
