Agatha All Along: Here’s a first look at Marvel’s new hit series

Agatha Harkness is stirring up some trouble in the first image of Agatha All Along, the upcoming Disney+ series from Marvel.

When we last saw Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha in WandaVision, she was wreaking havoc for Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) in Westview, New Jersey. In a surprising reveal, Agatha was disrupting Wanda’s life all along. The cunning witch nearly stole Wanda’s chaos magic but failed after being overpowered by Scarlett Witch, who traps Agatha’s mind in Agness from Westview.

Now, Agatha is looking to regain her powers with the help of other witches in Agatha All Along. In Empire’s exclusive image, Agatha is joined by Patti LuPone as Lilia, Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer, Ali Ahn as Alice, and Debra Jo Rupp as Sharon. Series creator Jac Schaeffer explained the link between the “disparate mixed bag of witches.”

“What they have in common is that they’re covenless witches,” Schaeffer told Empire. “Witches are defined by deception, treachery, villainy and selfishness. What do you do when you have a group of witches who [demonstrate] those notions and you need them to work together?”

Plot details remain under wraps, though the series will have a musical element, with Oscar and Grammy-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez writing new tunes. Agatha All Along also stars Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal, Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley as Billy’s boyfriend.

In the MCU, Agatha All Along will be part of Phase Five. The series will stream on Disney+ on September 18, 2024, with two new episodes. The other seven episodes will be released weekly through November 6.

Cobra Kai season 6, part 1 trailer: Daniel and Johnny prepare for a global battle

After years of being bitter rivals, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) join forces in a battle with global implications in the first trailer for Netflix's Cobra Kai season 6, part 1.

"We may have settled things in the Valley, but now, we have to be ready for whatever the world throws at us," Johnny says in the trailer. At the end of season 5, Daniel and Johnny defeated Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), eliminating Cobra Kai from the Valley. However, Cobra Kai founder John Kreese (Martin Kove) faked his death and escaped from prison. Kreese is now training a new crop of students in preparation for Sekai Taikai, the world championships of karate.

What’s new on Amazon Prime Video in July 2024

It may be too soon to call Amazon Prime Video the best streaming service of 2024, but if it keeps bringing the hits like it does in July then it's got a pretty strong case for the No. 1 position. Following The Boys season 4 and Oppenheimer, Prime Video could have slowed down. Instead, Amazon's streaming service is adding recent releases like The Beekeeper, Bob Marley: One Love, Lisa Frankenstein, and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1.

Additionally, this month's Prime Video original movies include My Spy: The Eternal City and Space Cadet. There's also an unusually high number of classic films like Breakfast at Tiffany's, Dr. Strangelove, Easy Rider, From Here to Eternity, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Lawrence of Arabia, and The Bridge on the River Kwai. Franchises are also represented by most of the Rocky and Star Trek films.

What’s new on HBO and Max in July 2024

The monsters are coming to Max in July, and that's not even including the dragons from House of the Dragon season 2, which also continues this month. Instead, we mean the latest installment of the MonsterVerse, Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, which was a box office hit earlier this year. Additionally, Max is adding Love Lies Bleeding, A24's sleeper flick starring Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brian as a pair of lovers who get sucked into the criminal underworld.

Football fans should be happy to hear that Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the team as it prepares for the new season this fall. Comic book fans also have two things to look forward to in July: The premiere of the Harley Quinn spinoff, Kite Man: Hell Yeah!, and the animated feature Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part Two. Max is also adding a lot of fan-favorite films on the 1st of the month, in addition to several unscripted series from Discovery's channels.
