What’s new on Tubi in August 2024

Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford in Air Force One.

Among streamers, Netflix and Hulu usually get the spotlight. That’s understandable, as both tend to have the most subscribers and the most popular titles like Shōgun, Baby Reindeer, and Ripley.

But there’s another streamer that is just as popular and doesn’t get nearly enough of the attention it deserves. Tubi is a great platform to stream home to classics, hidden gems, and cheesy B-movies and TV shows. Tubi has a lot of content, so much so that it can be hard to choose which shows and films are worth your time.

Have no fear, Digital Trends is here to help you sort out which ones are worth watching. Even though the streaming service is free, time is valuable, and no one wants to waste it watching mediocre movies.

All titles below begin streaming for free on August 1, unless otherwise noted:

This unexpected hit show is Netflix’s irresistible September binge-worthy series
A woman is hounded by reporters in Breathless.

After arriving on Netflix at the end of August, Breathless has almost immediately acquired a major following. The show, which is in Spanish and is set in Spain, is a medical drama that focuses on some things that are often left unaddressed on medical TV shows. The show's main characters are residents who join a hospital just as much of its staff go on strike over cuts to public health funding.

This leaves the show's core cast in a moral dilemma as they're forced to decide whether they want to continue supporting patients or support the striking workers, which would have deadly consequences. If you're on the fence about watching Breathless either because of its language or for some other reason, here are three reasons you should make time for the series.
It doesn't have any easy answers

What’s new on Apple TV+ this month (September 2024)
A man on a phone walks down the street.

Despite almost exclusively offering original content, Apple TV+ has built up a strong repository of quality movies and TV shows. The strategy has had a surprisingly strong track record, with original film CODA winning Best Picture at the 94th Academy Awards and several shows taking home Emmys.

Unlike other streaming platforms, only a few new arrivals grace Apple TV+ each month, but they tend to be pretty good. To help you stay on top of the new releases, we update this list every month.
