Cooler Master MM711

Pros
  • Very affordable
  • Lightweight honeycomb design
  • Ambidextrous
  • Accurate and responsive sensor
  • Supports all popular grip types
Cons
  • Less suitable for large hands
  • Lacks ergonomic support

**Why you should buy this: **It's a highly affordable, lightweight gaming mouse that is functional and looks good too.

**Who it’s for: **Beginners looking for a low-cost option that doesn't compromise on design and performance.

Why we chose the Cooler Master MM711:

The Cooler Master MM711 is an excellent gaming mouse at a very attractive price. For well under $50, you get a flashy, lightweight, and practical gaming mouse that is good for both left-handed and right-handed gamers, has an attractive design, and offers an accurate and responsive sensor for competitive play. Visually appealing with its honeycomb pattern and polytetrafluoroethylene (PFTE) feet, it features a simple two-button mouse appearance with essential design elements.

It's built around Pixart's PMW3389 sensor, which gives it excellent tracking, while the 1000Hz polling rate should ensure a fast and responsive experience. It's not as fast as some of the most expensive gaming mice, nor is it wireless, so you have to deal with a mouse wire, but besides that, there's very little to complain about with this mouse. It looks good, is lightweight and responsive for competitive play, and it's super cheap. What's not to love?

Razer Viper V3 Hyperspeed

Pros
  • Very responsive sensor
  • 1,000 Hz polling rate
  • Strong battery life
  • Fast mechanical switch buttons
Cons
  • Lacks Bluetooth support
  • No RGB lighting

**Why you should buy this: **It's affordable, very fast for competitive play, and wireless, making it extra versatile.

**Who it’s for: **Gamers who don't want a wireless tether, but aren't keen on paying high prices.

Why we chose the Razer V3 Hyperspeed:

The Razer V3 Hyperspeed gives you a feel of what high-end gaming hardware is like, but at a much more affordable price. It uses Razer's Hyperspeed wireless system, so it's almost as responsive as a wired gaming mouse, but you don't have to drag a wire around as you move it about. It also has a high polling rate of 1,000 Hz and it supports up to 4,000 Hz polling rates if you upgrade to the HyperPolling dongle (sold separately), making it more responsive than most other gaming mic. And with its mechanical switch buttons, there's as little lag between you and a win as possible.

Its battery life is great, at up to 280 hours, thanks to its lack of RGB lighting. That's a shame for those who like it, but if you don't need your mouse to light up like a Christmas tree, you aren't missing out. The lack of Bluetooth is a shame too, but only if you plan to use this mouse on other devices. For pure PC gamers on a budget, the Viper V3 is king of the wireless options.

SteelSeries Rival 3

Pros
  • Costs about $20
  • High-DPI sensitivity sensor
  • Ambidextrous design works for left- and right-handed gamers
  • Attractive RGB lighting
Cons
  • Older design is missing some modern features

**Why you should buy this: ** Its very cheap and still offers excellent gaming capabilities.

**Who it’s for: **Gamers on a tight budget.

Why we chose the SteelSeries Rival 3:

The SteelSeries Rival 3 isn't a new gaming mouse, but it's still on sale after several years and still as popular as ever -- that's real budget mouse staying power. At around $20 at its current pricing, there are very few gaming mice that can undercut it, let alone do that while offering comparable features and specifications.

It's a compact, ambidextrous mouse, making it excellent for just about everyone other than those with large hands. It has some tasteful RGB lighting that you can customize, or turn off if you prefer, and its PTFE feet are smooth and glide across a range of surfaces well. The cable is rubber, so not as nice as the braided options, but doesn't drag on the mouse mat.

At around 80 grams, it's not the lightest mouse out there, but it's far from a weighty one, which helps it compete with more expensive gaming mice. It also enjoys a 1,000Hz polling rate, with the option to adjust that if you prefer a less responsive mouse. Its sensor is fast and accurate, and the buttons are responsive. The overall build quality is decent, considering the price. It doesn't have high-end features like mechanical switches, or wireless operation, but it's a fantastic entry-level gaming mouse for just about anyone.

Logitech G502 Hero

Pros
  • High-end Hero gaming sensor
  • 11 customizable buttons
  • Customizable lighting
  • Tunable weights
  • Well-suited for larger hands
Cons
  • No good for left-handed gamers
  • Heavier design may not be as swift for FPS play

**Why you should buy this: ** It's a well-built gaming mouse with impressive features at a great price.

**Who it’s for: ** Gamers who want a very customizable, ergonomic gaming mouse.

Why we chose the Logitech G502 Hero:

The Logitech G502 is an iconic gaming mouse design with some fantastic features, and with the latest discounts, it's available at a very attractive price. This is a high-end wired gaming mouse that uses Logitech's excellent Hero sensor. That gives it the ability to offer a very wide range of DPIs, including up to 25,000 for those ultra slow-turret turns in your favorite FPS game.

There's a very low click latency, making this a great mouse for competitive play. It's on the heavier side, so may be more suited to heavier-handed gamers, though you can adjust the weight with the adjustable weight pucks. That leans into its larger size, too, making this a great mouse for those with bigger hands.

There are 11 buttons you can remap if you want, giving you access to a range of commands for more complex input games, like MOBAs. It also has a free-scrolling wheel for whizzing your way through long documents and websites.

HyperX Pulsefire Haste

Pros
  • Ultralight design -- just 59 grams
  • Attractive RGB lighting
  • PTFE feet make it glide well
  • Flexible braided USB cable won't drag
Cons
  • Can only store one profile locally

**Why you should buy this: ** It's a super-light gaming mouse that costs barely more than $30.

**Who it’s for: ** Gamers who want a superfast gaming mouse for competitive play.

Why we chose the HyperX Pulsefire Haste:

One of the best ways to speed up your gaming is with a gaming mouse, and the best way to speed up your gaming mouse, is with an ultralight model. The HyperX Pulsefire is just such a mouse, weighing in at just 59 grams. It boasts a clever honeycomb body design, an exceptionally quick and accurate and response sensor, and low-input-lag buttons.

The RGB lighting is limited, but tasteful, and the overall build quality is strong. It has PTFE feet, so it's smooth on a range of surfaces, and the braided mouse is specifically designed to avoid kinks. You can remap the buttons in the backend software to whatever you like, although the mouse can only store one profile itself -- you can save more in the software.

There's also a wireless version available if you prefer, but it costs almost twice as much, and it's a few grams heavier.

Roccat Kone Pro

Pros
  • Ultralight design -- 61 grams
  • Optical switches are fast and durable
  • Excellent optical sensor
  • Elevated left-click makes for faster presses
Cons
  • No DPI switch button

**Why you should buy this: ** It's a super-light gaming mouse that is affordable and very fast.

**Who it’s for: ** Gamers who want a superfast gaming mouse at a great price.

Why we chose the Roccat Kone Pro:

The Roccat Kone Pro is a highly competitive gaming mouse with an ultralight design, great looks, and impressive build quality. Its sensor is accurate and very fast, making it excellent for competitive play. TIt has an elevated left-click, which gives you extra leverage for a faster press.

The RGB lighting zones look great and are easily customizable in the formidable Roccat software. That's where you can remap buttons. Roccat also offers an Easy-Shift secondary button mode, which you'll want to make use of as one thing this mouse does lack is a DPI switch.

Still, if you can make do without it, this is one fantastic lightweight gaming mouse, and it's available at a great price, too.
