It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without football. The sport has been played on Thanksgiving for over 100 years. Of all the football leagues, the NFL remains the “King of Thanksgiving.” After the Super Bowl, Thanksgiving is arguably the second most popular day on the NFL schedule. With standalone games in every window, expect large television audiences to tune into the games.

In Week 13, three games will be played on Thanksgiving. For the second consecutive year, the NFL will also play one game on Black Friday, a new tradition that the NFL would like to keep for years to come. All of these games will be nationally televised. However, fans can sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket through YouTube TV to watch the entire Sunday slate. Below, check out the NFL Week 13 schedule for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, with times, channels, and streaming information.

In Week 8, the Chicago Bears (4-7) were one play away from defeating the Washington Commanders and moving to 5-2. However, the Commanders won with a Hail Mary, changing the trajectory of the Bears’ season. Chicago has now lost five straight games, and it could easily reach six.

The Detroit Lions (10-1) are one of two teams that always host a Thanksgiving game. The Lions have been playing on Thanksgiving since 1934 and have a record of 37-44-2. They are hoping to win their first Thanksgiving game since 2016.

The New York Giants (2-9) likely burned the tape of their 30-7 loss to the Bucs in Week 12. Tommy DeVito will get the start at quarterback for the second consecutive week (although that may not happen according to recent reports). The Giants lost to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving in 2022 by a score of 28-20.

Like the Lions, the Dallas Cowboys (4-7) are the other team to always host a game on Thanksgiving. Dallas’ career Thanksgiving record is 33-22-1, and the Cowboys will try to win their third consecutive game on Turkey Day.

Since 2006, a third game has been played on Thanksgiving in primetime. In 2024, the red-hot Green Bay Packers (8-3) will host the Miami Dolphins (5-6) at Lambeau Field.

The Packers are trying to keep pace with the Lions and Vikings in the NFC North. Meanwhile, a Miami win will keep the Dolphins in the hunt for the No. 7 seed in the AFC.

After the success of last year’s inaugural Black Friday game, the NFL will continue the new tradition and play a football game on one of the year’s biggest shopping days.

2024’s game features the Las Vegas Raiders (2-9) hitting the road to face their AFC rival, the Kansas City Chiefs (10-1). The game will stream on Prime Video.

Aidan Hutchinson of the Detroit Lions sits down and stares.

Where to watch Titans vs. Dolphins: NFL Week 4 Monday Night Football live stream
Will Levis stands at the podium and speaks.

There will be a doubleheader on Monday Night Football for the second consecutive week. In the first game, Will Levis and the Tennessee Titans (0-3) travel to Florida to play Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins (1-2). Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky, Louis Riddick, and Laura Rutledge will be on the call for ESPN.

The Titans and Dolphins have major questions at quarterback coming into Week 4's game. Levis' turnovers are costing the Titans possessions, points, and ultimately, games. His inability to protect the ball is a huge issue. For Miami, their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, is out with a concussion. Their backup, Skylar Thompson, is not 100%. Will head coach Mike McDaniel trot out an injured Thompson, or let Tim Boyle or Tyler Huntley take over?
