Fortnite’s much anticipated season Chapter 6 Season 1: Demon Hunters is finally here, and players are already stacking up on V-Bucks to purchase the latest Battle Pass, full of Ronin and Japanese warriors, including collab skins such as Baymax from Big Hero 6 and Godzilla.

Epic has also added new movement mechanics and gameplay items and has re-added trains to the newest island, which is full of different biomes. While the new Japanese-themed season promises high-octane action, there’s something else OG Fortnite players are waiting for, and it’s none other than the Fortnite OG game mode.

Fortnite OG mode: leaks, seasons, and weapons

When does Fortnite OG come out?

Fortnite OG Returns
Epic Games

Fortnite OG mode will be released on December 6. This will be added with a Friday update, just days after the arrival of the new season in Chapter 6. We’ll provide more updates on the downtime right here once official info is out.

Return of Chapter 1 island and gameplay

First things first, the OG Fortnite mode will kick off with Chapter 1 Season 1 and will bring back the OG Chapter 1 island that started the Battle Royale game mode. Iconic locations like Retail Row, Tilted Towers, Dusty Divot, and more are rumored to return and will be a full map instead of the smaller Reload map.

Furthermore, players can also expect the OG Fortnite graphics to return, which will bring back the more vivid look and skybox that earlier fans are familiar with.

When it comes to gameplay, the mode is rumored to accommodate both Builds and Zero Build players. But when it comes to building and movement, the OG mechanics are returning where Turbo Building will be turned off and players will move like they used to in previous Fortnite seasons.

All OG seasons rotate each month

According to rumors, the Fortnite OG mode will have a new season each month. Since it’s starting with Season 1 in December, players can expect the next Season 2 to arrive in February.

This means that during the 10-month run, Fortnite OG will take players through all 10 seasons in Chapter 1. Whether or not Chapter 2 island will return after the 10-month period is over is still unclear.

New OG Pass

When it comes to the game mode having its own Battle Pass, Fortnite has announced in its recent Battle Pass announcements that a special OG pass will be released exclusively for this game mode. However, players will be able to progress along the pass by earning XP in any Fortnite game mode.

While you may think that the OG skins like Renegade Raider may be returning, sadly, they’re not. The OG pass will have a new set of skins that will be released, and according to leaks, there will be different versions of the OG skins from Chapter 1. Since the cost of the OG pass hasn’t been announced, it’ll be available to Crew subscribers for free.

OG Weapons unvault

Fortnite OG Double Pump
Epic Games

Finally, the most-hyped announcement that got every OG player excited was that all the OG loot, including the classic weapon models, will return with Fortnite OG mode. But that’s not all — the game is also bringing broken meta like Double Pump back into the game.

Among these, other items such as the OG Burst Assault Rifle, Electric Traps, and more such features will be added once more to the game. While the OG season had newer versions of the OG loot, this mode promises the exact same nostalgia several OG Fortnite players had back in 2017.
