Another CES has come and gone and so it’s time for the pundits out there to declare the show’s winners and losers (whatever that means). There’s no hard and fast way to figure out what brand captured our attention or which manufacturer out-innovated all others – but there is Twitter, the equivalent of the virtual water cooler. And you had best believe that we CES attendees have been burning the Twitter feed up this past week.
Brand engagement analytics platform Salorix has been collecting and dissecting the week’s tweets to determine what has collectively caught CES’ attention, and the clearest conclusion was that Samsung came away a winner. The foldable, flexible concept phone as well as the brand’s 4K TVs (namely, its 110-inch 4K Ultra HD TV) dominated Twitter. Check out the chart below: Clearly, Samsung had a huge lead over the other top names in contention, which included LG, Intel, Panasonic, Lenovo, and Microsoft (which, remember, wasn’t “officially” at the show).
Also generating some buzz were Sony, Qualcomm, Nvidia, and Chinese company Huawei. Sony, in fact, managed to steal most of the attention day one, but Samsung quickly overtook it.
It was a good week for tablets and TVs … and for CES’ PR team in general. Tweets about and from the Alicia Keys concert at the Monster event Thursday night overshadowed product launches and company contests from that day. Sigh. We have no one to blame but ourselves.
