Acer’s newest notebook the TravelMate 4020 is designed for home office or SOHO use and comes packed with an Intel Centrino chipset, PCI-Express technology (we assume graphics subsystem, although the graphics is integrated) 512MB of RAM (upgradeable to 2GB), a 1.6GHz Pentium M processor, integrated WiFi and Bluetooth and a 60GB hard drive.
The TravelMate 4020 notebooks come with Microsoft Windows XP Professional pre-installed (with Recovery CD) in addition to a complete selection of useful utilities. These utilities include Acer eManager (ePresentation, eSetting, ePowerManagement and eRecovery) and Acer GridVista. The first offering provides access to a number of notebook management utilities, while the second allows up to four windows to be screened simultaneously, each associated with a different application.
While the specifications are not quite mind-blowing, when you consider the price at $899, it seems like a fairly good deal.
