Better start making plans for the overnight parking lot camp-out now, because Pacific Rim Technologies is pushing Saffire’s new Jukebox Station goes on sale at Target stores October 2, 2006. And, oh, you will want one for that wood panel, shag-carpet game room you’re building.
The Jukebox Station resembles an old-style, neon-ilt, 45-playing record machine of yore…except this modernized version substitutes LEDs for neon and an iPod for the cylinder of 45 singles. The Jukebox Station features a Universal Dock which can accomdate any dock-compatible iPod via a set of five included Dock adapters, and includes a five speaker sound system with six-inch subwoofer (20 watts to the drivers 40 watts to the sub), so your tunes will definitely be heard. The system also includes an FM receiver, a 17-function IR remote control, and a lockable window (with two keys) to prevent anyone from walking off with your iPod. The system can also push photos or video from your iPod to a TV using RCA or S-Video connectors.
One of the product pictures implies the unit includes a CD player, but the specs don’t back up the idea. Guess you’ll just have to wait until you can set hands on one at Target to find out for yourself. Price? $699.
