Mobile game developer Gameloft has launched its mobile game based on the hit ABC television show Lost, letting fans of the show get their Lost fix on more than 800 different cell phone models through 170 telecom operatrs, and 150 partners in some 75 countries.
"Adapting the world of LOST into a mobile game is a key franchise priority," said Bruce Gersh, ABC’s senior VP of business development, in a release. "Working together with Gameloft and the Lost producers, we have created a game full of action and entertainment that will appeal to fans of the show, as well as casual and hard core gamers."
In the game, users will play "Jack" and re-enact key moments in the show’s run to-date, including the initial plane crash, opening the now-famous "hatch," and confronting the Others. Game elements include challenges like caring for the wounded, searching for dynamite, and (of course) hunting for food. Players will be able to interact with characters from the show, including Kate, Locke, Sayid, and Sawyer.
"We are thrilled that Gameloft is bringing our show to the mobile game market," said Carlton Cuse, Lost executive producer. "The game offers drama, suspense and pure fun. Gameloft managed to reconstruct all the key locations from our show—from the crash site to the hatch, to our jungle—all with realistic, high-quality graphics."
