Shuttle Intros XPC Prima SX38P2 Pro

Proving that gaming rigs don’t have to come in 50-pound neon-lit towers, leading small-form-factor (SFF) PC manufacturer Shuttle introduced its XPC Prima SX38P2 Pro gaming machine on Wednesday.

Fitting into a case roughly eight inches wide, eight inches tall and 13 inches long, the only thing unnecessarily large about the machine would appear to be its name. Shuttle used Intel’s X38 chipset, which will support Core 2 Quad and Duo processors, among others. It can handle up to 8GB of DDR memory at 1066 MHz. Two PCI Express 2.0 slots with ATI CrossFire technology provide room for a variety of video card options.

Other touches include built-in fingerprint recognition and a 400W power supply that Shuttle claims is 33 percent more efficient than current power supplies. You can even hook two of these little guys together with a USB cable to share files via USB Speed-Link technology.

Of everything we know about the SX38P2 Pro, price isn’t part of the picture yet, so eager system builders will have to drool and wait for now.
