Block pop up ads with this Internet Explorer browser add on

Pop-ups and ads are a fact of life if you spend any amount of time on the Internet. However,  it doesn’t have to be this way.

There’s one particular ad blocking browser extension we love for Internet Explorer, and it works quietly in the background without you having to manipulate it. It’s called Adblock Plus, and in this quick tutorial we’ll show you how to add it to IE in a snap.

How to block pop up ads with this Internet Explorer browser add on extension

First, open the desktop version of Internet Explorer (in case you’re using Windows 8). Then, click the gear in the upper right hand corner of the browser window, and then click “Manage add-ons.” From there, click the blue button labeled “Find more toolbars and extensions…” in the lower left hand corner of the new window.

Once done, in the search field located in the middle of the screen, type in “Adblock Plus” and hit Enter. AdBlock Plus should be the first result that appears from the top of the screen. Click the yellowish button labeled “Add to Internet Explorer.” Do the same thing on the new page that appears. Doing so will begin a download.

Once the download of Adblock Plus is complete, open the setup file and follow the instructions to complete installation. When it’s finished, click “Done.” That’s all there is to it!

Note that Adblock Plus won’t catch and stymie every pop up ad, but it does snag and drop most of them. Enjoy.

microsoft issues emergency windows patch internet explorer 6 768x768

It's official -- the end of Internet Explorer is on the horizon. Microsoft confirmed what most of us already expected in a blog post released today. The company made the announcement over a year in advance. Starting on June 15, 2022, Internet Explorer will be retired and no longer supported on most versions of Windows 10. However, the legacy of IE11 lives on in Microsoft Edge.

While the vast majority of Windows 10 versions will no longer support IE11, Microsoft said that it won't be retired from all of them. This change will affect devices running Windows 10 version 20H2 and later, on both SKUs and IoT units. This means that most people are soon going to see the official retirement of Internet Explorer.

The Dell XPS 16, which is now the largest model in the popular line of laptops following the retirement of the Dell XPS 17 with last year's Dell XPS reset, scored a rating of 3.5 stars out of 5 stars in our review. We described it as "one of the most beautiful and powerful laptops you can buy," and at first glance, it's easy to see why. The device's ultramodern aesthetic is very attractive, with insanely thin bezels surrounding its 16.3-inch Full HD+ screen, a hidden haptic touchpad, a zero-lattice keyboard, and LED touch function keys.
