Irish Not Happy At iPhone Limits

The O2 franchise for the iPhone includes Ireland, but the company hasn’t been in any rush to enter that market. Infact, it will only be on the 14^th of this month that the first Irish customers will be able to buy the iPhone.   Don’t expect a mob of buyers, however, since consumerswon’t be enchanted with the deal in Erin.   The phones, which will be sold through O2 and Carphone Warehouse stores will go for around $800for the 8GB model and $900 for the 16GB, in a deal that includes three tariffs that begin at $90 a month.   But on that lowest tariff, Irish iPhone users will only receive 175 minues and 100texts – compared to the 600 minutes and 500 texts on the lowest rate in the UK, Vnunet reports.   To add insult to injury, there will be a 1GB datacap, as opposed to the unlimited fair use given to customer in the US and UK, and no free Wi-Fi.
