In preparation for the upcoming spring launch of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue in North America, Sony and developer Polyphony unveiled a host of new information about the game on Thursday, including cars, tracks and new gameplay modes for the North American version of the game.
The game will include 60 vehicles, from the venerable Nissan GT-R, Ferrari 599, and Audi R8, down to more pedestrian vehicles such as the Volkswagen Golf GTI, Mini Cooper-S, and Ford Focus ST. The final vehicle count of 60 includes both vanilla and “tuned” variants of the same cars, inflating its size slightly. The full list can be found in Sony’s press release.
Players will be able to put the vehicles to the test on six different tracks: Suzuka Circuit, Fuji Speedway, Daytona International Speedway, Eiger Nordwand, London City Track, and High Speed Ring. North Americans also get additional features with their version of the game, including a drift mode, in-depth car tuning, two-player splitscreen racing, and new racing events.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will launch on April 17 for $39.99, on both Blu-ray Disc and as a download from the Playstation Store.
