Retailer Tesco Revamps Its Download Site Leading British supermarket chain Tesco is gunning for iTunes. Next month it will revamp its Tesco Download service,re-branding it as Tesco Digital. With a library of over three million tracks, it has a lot of music to offer. Initially, 1.6 million will be in the DRM-free MP3 format, with the rest in Windows MediaAudio, or WMA, although Tesco has pledged that all music will be in MP3 by year’s end. Additionally there will be more than a hundred free Flash games to play. The company plans to offer TVepisodes and games for download in the future. Graham Harris, Commercial Director at Tesco, said, “The new Tesco Digital site is more than a music download portal – wewanted to create an exciting and easy-to-use entertainment shop that Tesco customers of all ages and technical ability can use and trust. We’re starting out with a comprehensive music offering,but customers can expect downloadable TV and films as well as games to buy very soon.” No pricing structure has been announced, but Tesco has a reputation for being competitive.

OpenAI's ChatGPT platform and Sora video generator have gone offline and are currently not responding to user queries.

Social media accounts began posting about the outage around 1:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, which coincided with a surge of reports to Down Detector. The company confirmed the outage in a blog post at 2 p.m. ET stating, "we are currently experiencing an issue with high error rates on ChatGPT, the API, and Sora. We are currently investigating and will post an update as soon as we are able."

We're still in the middle of the rollout of Apple's M4 chips, but today we got our first big peek at its successor, the M5. The report comes from reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who posted on X today and spilled some juicy technical details about what's coming.

The M5 family of chips will be manufactured on TSMC's N3P node, the next step up from the N3E on the M4. Kuo says the new node "entered the prototype phase a few months ago," but it's the first time we're getting three generations of chips in a row that use the 3nm node.

The next few months will completely redefine every ranking of the best graphics cards. With Nvidia's RTX 50-series and AMD's RDNA 4 most likely launching in January -- and even Intel possibly expanding its Battlemage lineup -- there's a lot to look forward to.

But as for me, I already know which GPU I'm most excited about. And no, it's not Nvidia's rumored almighty RTX 5090. The GPU I'm looking forward to is AMD's upcoming flagship, which will presumably be the RX 8800 XT (or perhaps the RX 9070 XT). Below, I'll tell you why I think this GPU is going to be so important not just for AMD but also for the entire graphics card market.
