Navman Announces Ultra-Slim S100 GPS

European GPS label Navman expanded its line of fashion-savvy satellite navigation devices on Friday with the release of the new S100. It’s one of the few GPS devices on the market to brag of its slim dimensions (just 13.5mm thick) but doesn’t cut features short to make room, with text-to-speech, an MP3 player, 3D landmarks and other perks on board.

Among the S100’s most unique features: a capture button for taking coordinate snapshots of memory-worthy locations, so they can be returned to later. Find a killer viewpoint on a mountain road or a tiny farm market out in the sticks? Mark it for later and you can always come back. The unit also comes with NavPix, which lets you download photographic points of interest from Navman’s library and view them as you go.

Other specs include a 4.3-inch display, 3D Junction views that illustrate complicated intersections and real sign data, and a SiRFInstantFixII GPS unit for quick signal acquisition.

True to its Euro roots, the S100 will debut in the U.K. (with maps to match) in November, priced at £200 ($340 USD).

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra vs. Tab S10 Plus: Go big or even bigger?
Proportional comparison of Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra versus Galaxy Tab S10 Plus.

Samsung’s 2024 tablet lineup recently arrived with an interesting twist. While the company surprised us last year with a new 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, adding a third model to the mix, this year it reduced the family back to two models by dropping the standard 11-inch Galaxy Tab. Your choice is now between the big Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and the even bigger Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.

As usual, Samsung has made some good year-over-year improvements to both tablets under the hood, although on the outside, you’ll have a hard time telling them apart from their predecessors. However, that still leaves the more important question of which model is right for you. Is the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra worth investing in solely for its larger screen, or is it more than just a bigger version of its 12.4-inch Tab S10 Plus sibling? Let’s dig in and find out.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is suffering
A person holding the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra again for the last few weeks, and while I do think it continues to be one of the most versatile smartphones around, I quickly got tired of the shape and design.

I wasn’t the only one who had complaints about this aspect either, and it showed me thatSamsung really needs to think seriously about giving the Galaxy S25 Ultra a big boost to increase its appeal next year, particularly because the competition has really improved.
The S24 Ultra is still extremely versatile
