Third Beta Of Firefox 3.1 Released

We’ve all got used to Firefox 3.0, but 3.1 is heading down the read to a computer near you. Mozilla has just given a public preview release of the third beta of 3.1. As the company said in a blog, this release is meant for “developer testing and community feedback.”

Among the new features in 3.1 are Private Browsing Mode, which lets users “Forget This Site” using the History sidebar, and also offers support for several new web technologies, such as W3C Geolocation API.

The new version supposedly offers greater stability because of the TraceMonkey Java Script and an improved Gecko layout should mean quicker content rendering.

AMD may have confirmed the release date of the hotly-anticipated Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D, and Ryzen 7 7800X3D, but it doesn't look intentional. According to OC3D, AMD briefly published a launch date of February 14 for its new processors.

The launch date has since been removed from all listings on AMD's website, so this was probably a slip-up. However, February 14 isn't out of the question. AMD confirmed when announcing the processors that they would arrive in February.

The latest Firefox release redesigns its private browsing feature

Mozilla is releasing its latest version of the Firefox browser as of Tuesday with a focus on privacy, accessibility, and customization, according to the brand.

The new release will include a number of features, but one notable highlight is the introduction of a shortcut button for Private Browsing mode that you can pin to your desktop. This is a feature intended for easy access to the feature that is typically found within the triple bar icon at the upper right corner of the browser or when right-clicking the Firefox icon on the Windows taskbar with a mouse or trackpad. While it might not be extremely tedious, this feature takes out some extra steps for those who wish to take advantage.
