The wait is over, pigskin fans. The start of the 2014 NFL Draft begins tonight, with the Houston Texans slated to be on the clock starting at 8 pm EST.
But what if your TV is on the fritz, or your cable box went out? Sure, you can schlep on over to your local bar and hope that they’ll have it on, but beer is pricey, especially here in New York City.
Not to worry though. Here, we’ll guide you through the ways you can watch the NFL draft online using your computer. These methods are legal too, so you don’t have to fear that you’re doing something that’s risky.
NFL.com
If you head on over to this official NFL site, you can open a live stream that will allow you to watch this year’s NFL draft from the comfort of your Mac or PC. However, the pre-draft coverage is worth checking out, and you never know what news will break prior to when the draft begins, so you might just want to pop open a stream a couple of hours leading up to the big event as well.
In order to open a stream, you’ll need an active cable TV subscription, and you’ll also need to select your provider from the drop down list found on the page we linked you to above. Then, you’ll need to enter your account name and password. From there, all you’ll need to do is kick back, crack open some cold ones, and watch the fireworks.
Watch ESPN
ESPN is also covering the draft, though, when it comes to sports, there isn’t much that the network doesn’t cover these days. If you click on through to this official ESPN page, you can choose to watch the network’s special draft coverage leading up to the event’s kickoff, as well as the draft itself. However, as is the case with NFL.com, you’ll need an active cable subscription, along with your account name and password in order to watch ESPN’s stream of this year’s draft.
Other methods
Right now, Twitter is a hotbed of draft coverage, news and rumors. If you just keep track of “#NFLDraft” or #NFLDraft2014,” you’ll run into more draft content than you’ll know what to do with.
With these methods in your holster, there’s no way that you’ll miss out on anything related to the 2014 NFL Draft.
What do you think? Did we miss anything? Are there any other ways to watch the draft online that aren’t listed here? If so, let us know in the comments below.
