New Chrome Browser Beta Gets Go-Faster Stripes

Google’s Chrome browser might be a fairly new addition to the landscape, but that hasn’t stopped the company releasing a beta version of a new, improved Chrome.

According to the company, it’s 30% faster than the stable release, with improved JavaScript execution speed has been improved, HTML 5 fuctionality, with video tags and web workers.

DNS caching will make loading pages more efficient, and when a user loads a new page, it will be given priority in fetching elements such as text, images and video.

There’s also a small gallery of themes that will be expanded. In a posting announcing the beta, Chrome engineer Glen Murphy wrote:

"There is still some testing to do — we’re only launching some very basic themes and there are still some kinks to work out, but we will add more themes in the future as we roll this out to the stable version."

This new Google Chrome security warning is very important

Google is changing how it warns its users about suspicious files on Chrome by adding new full-page warnings and cloud scanning regarding suspicious downloads, according to Windows Report. This is an attempt to explain more precisely why it blocks specific downloads. Google says that the AI models will divide the warning into two categories: "suspicious" or "dangerous."

The new warning system primarily benefits those using the anti-phishing Enhanced protection feature. The files users upload to the cloud for an automatic scan and those that undergo a deep scan are 50 times more likely to have the AI flag them as malware.

AMD's new Ryzen 9000 CPUs are releasing in a little over a week, and the first review has already been posted. SaddyTech posted a video taking a look at the 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X in a slate of games, and there's some bad news for AMD. Across titles, last generation's Ryzen 7 7800X3D is faster.

There are minor differences in some games, but others show a massive lead for AMD's last-gen CPU. In Alan Wake 2 at 1080p, for example, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X are within two frames of each other. However, in The Last of Us Part One, SaddyTech showed that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 18% ahead at 1080p. And in Fornite, it's 16% ahead.
