Audi’s slope-back luxury powerhouse, the RS 7, gets a facelift for 2015

Hot on the heels of the refreshed 2015 A7 and S7 is the slope-backed, four-ringed luxury car we’ve really been waiting for: The 2015 Audi RS 7.

Like its less-powerful siblings, the 2015 RS 7 retains its winning looks but gains a few styling and content tweaks. Not bad for a model that was just unveiled a year ago.

Up front, the RS 7 gets more-angular headlights with Audi’s optional Matrix LED system, which allows the high beams to stay on even if other cars are approaching.

Other exterior changes include revised front and rear bumpers, a “quattro” emblem for the central air intake, and some new colors and trim.

The interior features slight changes to the vent controls and column-mounted shift paddles, as well as an updated version of Audi’s MMI infotainment system.

What hasn’t changed is the RS 7’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, which produces the same 560 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque it did in the 2014 RS 7. That seems like plenty.

The only available transmission is an eight-speed automatic, and naturally Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive is standard as well. A sport rear differential is also available.

The RS 7 will do 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds, while its top speed is limited to 174 mph. However, an optional dynamics packages will raise that top speed to 190 mph.

Look for the 2015 Audi RS 7 in dealerships this fall. Want to know what it’s like to drive? Check out our first drive of the 2014 RS 7.

2022 Audi Q4 Sportback E-Tron

Electrification is spreading across the Audi range at a shockingly quick pace. Shortly after unveiling the E-Tron GT fastback, the German firm launched a pair of battery-powered crossovers named Q4 E-Tron and Q4 Sportback E-Tron, respectively, that were developed to bring electric driving to one of the biggest segments of the market.

Previewed as a close-to-production concept in 2019, and again as a thinly camouflaged test mule in 2021, the Q4 E-Tron is positioned as the smallest and most affordable member of Audi's EV range. It shares some styling cues with the bigger E-Tron, like sharp headlights and an octagonal grille, but it stands apart with unusual proportions characterized by a short front overhang and a long wheelbase that clears up a generous amount of space inside. If roominess isn't your priority, the Sportback model trades practicality for a stylish, coupe-like roofline.

audi previews 2022 q4 e tron compact electric crossover

First presented in 2019, the Audi Q4 E-Tron concept has nearly completed its transition to becoming a production model. It will join the full-size E-Tron and the recently introduced E-Tron GT sport sedan when it makes its full debut later in 2021.

Don't let the funky orange, black, and white livery trick your mind; It's camouflage applied specifically to keep the full exterior design hidden. We can nonetheless discern key elements like the lights, which stylists have tweaked over the past two or so years, and the proportions, which are unusual. First of all, the front end is a lot shorter than we're used to seeing. Audi was able to achieve this because an electric motor requires less space than a four-cylinder or a V6 engine.

2022 Audi E-Tron GT

Audi traveled to the 2018 edition of the Los Angeles auto show to introduce a head-turning concept called E-Tron GT. Shortly after the unveiling, we learned that the sedan would reach production without major changes, and the company kept its promise. Unveiled online, the electric 2022 E-Tron GT is just as striking as the concept.

On a secondary level, it brings full electrification to the Audi Sport range for the first time. It's proudly positioned as one of the division's flagship models, and it blazes the path that future sports cars will follow in the coming years.
Wait, that's a production car?
