Last week, it was reported that actor Harrison Ford sustained an injury while filming Star Wars: Episode VII, and now it appears that the accident could cost him some time in front of the camera as Han Solo, the iconic smuggler he played in the original trilogy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ford broke his ankle on the set of the film, and needs up to eight weeks of recovery time before getting back in front of the camera.
Star Wars fans can take heart, though, as the outlet reports that the December 2015 release date for the film will not be affected by Ford’s injury. The actor’s scenes will reportedly be moved to the end of the shooting schedule while other scenes that don’t involve his character will be shot earlier.
While there hasn’t been any official confirmation of how Ford sustained his injury, various sources suggest that he was injured while on the set of the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo’s famous spaceship — specifically, by one of the ship’s doors.
It may be time for the famous smuggler to find a new career.
