This is a rigid, super-slim shell that snaps onto your LG G3 to provide basic, lightweight protection. It has a nice, soft-touch finish that makes it comfortable to hold, and enhances grip a little. The cut-outs are accurate. It’s not a rugged case, but it does offer some protection all-round. The sides, top, and bottom are covered, and there’s a slight lip on the front. It comes in black, gray, pink, or cyan.

Here’s a genuine leather case at a reasonable price. It’s designed to serve as a wallet, so you’ll find three slots for plastic, and a money pouch inside. There’s a magnetic clasp to keep it from popping open uninvited. A thin shell holds the LG G3 in place, and there are openings on the back for the camera, controls, and speaker. The real leather exterior is durable, and it comes in classic black with stitching. It adds a fair bit of bulk, but it’s a light case, and it should provide decent protection.

Caseology TPU Case ($10)

It’s easy to fit TPU cases in general, and this one’s no exception. The malleable material will absorb the impact from bumps and knocks, and there’s a hard lip to protect the screen should your LG G3 land face down. It’s a simple case, but the openings are in exactly the right places, and it feels well-made. It has quite a shiny finish, but it’s not slippery to hold. You’ve got a choice of seven colors different colors. At just $10 it’s good value for money.

Tech21 Impact Tactical Case ($27)

You can relax with this case on your LG G3. It provides excellent drop protection, and it’s designed to dissipate shock away from your device. It’s easy to fit, it’s relatively slim, and it has accurate cut-outs. If you insist on solid drop protection, but you don’t want to end up with something too big and bulky, this is a great option. It’s also a light case, it adds a little grip, and there’s a protective lip on the front for the screen.

Fosmon Dura-Frost Case ($6)

Fosmon Dura-Frost Case

There’s really no need to spend much if you’re happy with a very basic case. This is a TPU case that’s thin and slightly translucent. The openings are in the right places, and the general fit is good. It’s a smooth case, with a mostly matte look. You can opt for black, pink, or clear. It’s not realistically going to offer a great deal of protection, though there is a lip on the front to keep the screen off the ground. It’s pretty decent for the money.

Piel Frama FramaSlim Case ($60)

The Spanish leather craftsmen at Piel Frama are experts at hand making gorgeous folio style smartphone cases. They use high quality calfskin and there’s a suction pad inside to hold the LG G3 in place and keep the profile as slim as possible. The openings for the ports, camera, and controls are precise and you can even take calls with the case closed. The inside lining is soft and the only detail is a small metal plate bearing the Piel Frame logo. You have a choice of five dyes, but bear in mind that some take longer than others.

The cut-outs are accurate, so you’ll have no problem using your phone with the case on.

This is another folio style case that combines a protective shell with a slim cover. It’s made from polyurethane, but it has a cloth texture to it. Inside, there’s a soft microfiber lining and also a handy pocket for an ID or credit card. The back of the case has a really handy pop-out kickstand that props the LG G3 in landscape view. The cover closure and the kickstand use magnets to ensure they stay closed. There’s full access to all ports, controls, and the camera and the case doesn’t interfere with NFC either.

A raised lip around the front protects the screen and you’ve got the full range of precise cut-outs. It’s a snug fit, it’s not too bulky, and it looks stylish.

This case has a form-fitting silicone skin that hugs your LG G3 and then a hard shell in a contrasting color. There are cut-outs for the ports and camera, but the back power button has a cover which makes it a little tougher to use. The case adds grip and it should be able to withstand accidental drops with no ill effects for your LG G3. If you don’t like the purple variety, you can also pick it up in all black.

Supcase Unicorn Beetle Case

If you’re looking for rugged all-round protection and you’re on a tight budget then this might be the case for you. The main body combines a TPU bumper with a polycarbonate shell and the front cover with built-in screen protector slots into that. There are port covers in the bottom for the headphone and USB, but the camera and buttons on the back, and the rear microphone and IR blaster have cut-outs that leave them exposed to avoid any interference.

Available at:

($10)

Diztronic TPU Case

Maybe you just want a simple, subtle case that won’t add bulk for basic protection. That’s what you’ll get with Diztronic’s budget-friendly range. These are malleable TPU cases that can absorb shock. They are very light and thin and they have a raised lip on the front to prevent screen damage should the LG G3 land face down. The matte finish ensures you don’t end up with greasy fingerprints all over the back, but there are gloss varieties in alternative colors.

You won’t have to worry about drops with this case on your LG G3. It has reinforced corners and a raised lip that have won it drop test certification up to six feet. It is translucent to show off the LG G3 design inside, but there is a dimpled pattern to add a touch of style. You’ll find that full access to ports, camera, and buttons is there. The corners also help to add grip, so you’re less likely to drop your phone in the first place.

Available at:

LG Quick Circle Case ($50)

LG Quick Circle Case

The official case from LG offers a sneak peek at your phone’s screen, but unlike last year’s Quick Window case this one is a round window. It’s a folio style case that replaces the back cover, keeping that profile slim. It comes in black, white, pink, blue, or gold varieties. There’s a choice of classic round clock faces and app support for email, phone, camera, music, and a pedometer, so you can use all those functions without having to open the case. Check out our LG G3 Quick Circle case hands-on to get a closer look. It is also compatible with wireless charging.

Available at:

Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case ($25)

You get a crystal-clear hard polycarbonate back combined with a TPU bumper that can absorb impact shock with this case. It’s a slim case, so there isn’t much added bulk. The bumper is soft and easy to grip and there are little pockets of air to cushion the corners where impacts are most likely to occur if you drop the LG G3. Spigen says the clear back panel has a scratch-prevention coating, but it’s still likely to be a weak link for this case.

Available at:

Incipio DualPro Case ($30)

Incipio DualPro Case

A dual layer case is a great choice if you’re concerned about dropping your G3. The outer shell is very tough and the inner layer is soft and malleable which takes the sting out of any impact. This version has a matte finish and there’s a nice soft touch coating that feels good in hand and adds some grip. The cut outs are precise and Incipio has been careful to include a good ring for the camera flash to avoid any light bounceback. You can also get this case with a grey inner, and outer layers in white, pink, cyan, or navy.

Available at:

Verus Flip Case ($50)

Verus Flip Case

LG’s official offering isn’t the only round window in town and this fake leather flip case from Verus is one of the first cheap alternatives. It’s made from polyurethane with stitching round the edges to enhance the leather look. There’s a plastic frame to hold the G3 in place, but the fake leather extends all the way round the back. It comes in red, brown, or black. It has the full range of cut-outs, but it’s not going to work with wireless charging and using the camera flash with the case on could be a problem.

Available at:

Cruzerlite Bugdroid Circuit Case ($13)

Easy-fit TPU cases are a good budget option for basic protection. These come in all the colors of the rainbow, 11 choices in all, and there’s an Android mascot and a circuit design on the back. The cut outs are all present and correct. The screen is left exposed, but there is a lip on the front in case it should fall face down.

Available at:

Trident Aegis Case ($35)

Trident Aegis Case

Trident is a trustworthy name if you want solid protection for your LG G3. The Aegis strikes a nice balance, it’s tough, but it’s not too bulky. It meets military drop standards so you can count on the silicone inner wrapped in a polycarbonate shell to keep your G3 safe. It comes with a screen protector and it enhances grip without catching on your pockets. There are also dust filters and protection for the ports and buttons.

Available at:

Ringke Fusion Case ($30)

Ringke Fusion Case

This is about as minimalist as cases get. This crystal clear case combines a soft, shock-absorbing TPU bumper, with a tough, hardened back panel. It’s very slim, but the pointed design is clever, so it should provide decent protection and stay scratch-free, for a while at least. You can get a smoky variety if you prefer and it ships with one screen protector included.

Available at:

iBlason Holster Case ($18)

iBlason Holster Case

Once again, we find a silicone core with a hard polycarbonate shell around it, but this one also comes with a holster that clips easily onto your belt. There’s also a kickstand on the back that’s handy for viewing movies in landscape view on that amazing 2K display. It’s a pretty chunky looking case and it doesn’t look especially classy or premium, but it will keep your phone safe.

Available at:

Poetic FlipBook Case ($15)

Poetic FlipBook Case

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a cheaper folio style case than this. It’s obviously not real leather, it’s polyurethane with a polycarbonate shell inside that holds your LG G3 snugly in place. You’ll find some cut-outs, though you’ll want to remove the phone to shoot a photo using the flash. There are some card slots inside and an elastic closure ensures that it stays closed. You can pick it up in a few colors, but we recommend avoiding the white one.

Available at:

Noreve Tradition Leather Case ($60)

If you’re willing to spend more, you can get a genuine, handcrafted leather case from Noreve. They’re padded for extra protection and this one flips open vertically with a hinge at the bottom. It has the full range of cut outs and you can select a variety of different finishes in terms of texture and color, but costs do vary. A belt clip is an optional extra for this stylish case.

Available at:

($20)

Hyperion Titan Case

The Hyperion Titan looks far more expensive than it actually is. You can typically pick up the two-piece case, comprised of an inner silicone core and anti-slip hard shell, for as little as $5 on retailers like Amazon. The extra protection helps curb unwanted damage from the occasional bump and short drop, though, while the seven distinct color offerings add flare to an otherwise drab design.

Available at:

($20)

Poetic Invictus Case

Poetic is a bold name for company. Nonetheless, the manufacturer’s flagship case for the LG G3 is a subtle standout, reveling in a polycarbonate hard shell and shock-absorbent TPU. The lightweight, gloss-white case also features a kickstand and retains full access to your smartphone’s various ports, so you can protect your phone without having to slip off the case every time you want to take a photo.

Available at:

($25)

Ringke Slim Case

Available in a myriad of color offerings, including a transparent version, the Ringke Slim case offers top-to-bottom protection within a sleek design. It’s dual-layer coating gives it even more durability regardless of which incarnation you opt for, however, most of us could do without the cutout space for a TV antenna considering U.S. models of the LG G3 lack such a feature. The natural grip and bundled screen protector only add to its appeal.

Available at:

($7)

GMYLE Vintage Book Case

($20)

Terrapin Floral Case

Like GMYLE’s aforementioned case, the Terrapin Floral Case is shouts far bigger in terms of aesthetics than it does ingenuity. The textured-leather case protects your smartphone and doubles as a wallet, letting you to store cards and cash while toting the case in your purse or using the detachable wrist strap. The hard, rubberized inner shell and embedded loop closure gives it an additional line of protection, as well as a convenient means of keeping the case’s contents in place — that is, so long as you don’t mind hot pink.
