Is that interior pink? Four bespoke Aston Martin Q cars to debut at Pebble Beach

British automaker and superspy supplier Aston Martin is going to have a busy schedule at the Pebble Beach Automotive Week.

We just reported that the new V12 Vantage S Roadster and DP-100 would be making appearances at the Concours d’Elegance, but it appears Aston’s bespoke customization wing, Q, will sneak four personalized racehorses into the festival as well, each with its own unique utility and charm.

This striking Vanquish is finished in Abor Orange (a Q branch exclusive) and a rich weave of carbon fiber throughout.

The ‘amplified’ carbon fiber texture, as Aston calls it, presents a twill that is double in size than standard, giving the car’s front lip, rear diffuser, and side skirts a near holographic look.

Inside, Obsidian Black leather is highlight with Abor Orange stitching, and a ‘Helix’ snowflake design, named after a carbon molecule helix, runs down the cabins like an electric current.

The droptop Vanquish, like the coupe, wears a Q-exclusive finish called Frosted Silver. It’s easily the most menacing of the lot (partly because the last two are purple and pink), but the graphite paint looks great over the Vanquish’s musculature.

The Volante may be a classy Brit, but the interior is pure cowboy, with ‘authentic equestrian saddle leather’ in Chestnut Tan. In fact, the same material was used to create a saddle accessory that provides additional rear storage. Giddyup.

Wait, is that pink interior? Aston is calling it ‘blush pearl,’ but let’s be real. That’s pink.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, though. The exterior is coated with Q’s Ashen Blonde, a champagne-leaning silver that’s accented by polished alloys.

Aston says the bubblegum interior is inspired by luxury furniture, but the color, in combination with the Piano Ice Mocha fascia and pink rhodochrosite inlay, reminds me more of a certain fashion doll from Malibu.

Aston’s last one-off that’s bound for Pebble Beach is an Amethyst Purple V12 Vantage S. The front grill and rear diffuser is highlighted with a teal Monterey Pearl, and the cabin is, like the Vanquish Coupe, is dressed in Obsidian Black.

Which bespoke Aston is your favorite? You don’t have to decide now; you’ll have a chance to see these beauties in person in Monterey next week. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance starts August 14th.

Kia EV4: everything we know so far
Kia EV4 Front

Kia is continuing to expand its electric car lineup. The EV6 and EV9 have both been out for some time now, and the company is in the middle of rolling out the EV3 in Europe, with a North American release expected next year. After that, it's likely the company will turn to the EV5. But what about after that? Well, that could be where the Kia EV4 comes in.

Kia announced a concept version of the EV4 at its EV Day in 2023, showing off a futuristic-looking hatchback that's seemingly a little smaller than the EV6, but keeps many design elements. Since then, Kia has confirmed very few details about it, though we have seen it shown off at other automotive events. Here's everything we know about the Kia EV4 so far.
Kia EV4 design
The Kia EV4, or at least the concept version of it, is smaller than the EV6, and much smaller than the EV9. It's actually closer in size to a sedan than anything else, though with its open trunk, it could be considered a hatchback. Regardless, it certainly blurs the line between the two. So much so, that in recent months we've actually seen a full hatchback version of the EV4 being tested -- and it's possible that Kia is pivoting the design of the EV4 entirely to be a hatch, or will be releasing both hatchback and sedan versions.

Never mind slowing sales, 57% of drivers will likely have an EV in 10 years

Sales of electric vehicles (EVs) have slowed globally over the past few years. But should EV makers cater more to the mainstream, it’s likely that 57% of drivers will have an EV in 10 years, consulting firm Accenture says.

Last year, nearly 14 million EVs were sold globally, representing a 35% year-on-year increase. But it was much slower than the 55% sales growth recorded in 2022 and the 121% growth in 2021.
