If you’re looking for a relatively affordable handset that delivers respectable specifications on a prepaid carrier, Boost Mobile’s recently-announced ZTE Warp Sync might be up your alley.

The Warp Sync comes equipped with a 5-inch HD display that displays Android 4.4.2 KitKat in all its glory. Powering the handset is a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 2GB of RAM. The 8GB of internal storage might not give you enough room to store pictures and videos taken with the handset’s 8-megapixel rear-facing and 1.6-megapixel front-facing cameras, but the Warp Sync has a MicroSD slot that will take up to 64GB cards.

The Warp Sync comes equipped with Sprint’s HD Voice technology, which allows for clearer calls over the network when calling another HD Voice-equipped handset. Finally, the handset also support Sprint’s Spark technology, which is the carrier’s beefed-up LTE network.

The ZTE Warp Sync joins several ZTE handsets on Boost Mobile, including the Boost Max and the Boost Warp 4G. It is currently available for $180.

ZTE will skip Mobile World Congress press conference due to coronavirus outbreak
Cricket Wireless

ZTE has decided to skip its Mobile World Congress press conference this year due to the coronavirus outbreak in its home country of China. To be clear, ZTE saysthe cancellation was triggered by the secondary effects of the outbreak -- not because of employees having contracted it themselves.

For example, the virus has made it harder to get visas and make travel arrangements. ZTE also says that it tends "to be an overly courteous company, and simply doesn’t want to make people uncomfortable,” according to a ZTE spokesperson in an interview with The Verge. It's currently unclear if it's only the ZTE press conference that's canceled, or ZTE's presence at the show in general.
