Yet another actor from HBO’s Game Of Thrones has joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII, and he appears to know his way around a lightsaber — er, sword.

Greek actor Miltos Yerolemou has joined the cast of J.J. Abrams’ much-anticipated Star Wars sequel, according to BBC News. Yerolemou is probably best known for his role as Syrio Forel, Arya Stark’s mentor in the first season of Game Of Thrones.

Sword-fighting expertise has played a role in his Game Of Thrones character and several others he has played over the years, leading many to believe his unidentified Episode VII character could be handy with a lightsaber. However, the unconfirmed casting report suggests that Yerolemou’s character in Episode VII won’t be a major one.

Yerolemou is the second Game Of Thrones actor to join Episode VII after Gwendoline Christie — who plays Brienne of Trath in the series — was added to the cast (in a similarly unspecified role) in June.

Lucasfilm has yet to confirm Yerolemou’s casting, so the news should be considered unofficial at this point.

Star Wars: Episode VII hits theaters December 18, 2015.

Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley reveals why she finds her return as Rey ‘scary’
Daisy Ridley as Rey in The Rise of Skywalker.

Last year, Lucasfilm announced a handful of promising new film projects set within the Star Wars universe, including one that will follow Rey (Daisy Ridley) as she attempts to rebuild the Jedi Order following the events of 2019's Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy subsequently confirmed in an interview with IGN that the film will take place 15 years after the conclusion of Star Wars' Sequel Trilogy and will find the Jedi "in disarray" and Rey trying to rebuild the Order "based on the books, based on what she promised Luke (Mark Hamill)."

Since then, progress on the project has been slow. Its original writers, Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson, departed the project in March 2023, and their replacement, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, reportedly parted ways with the film recently as well. For her part, Daisy Ridley has remained fairly tight-lipped about the project and its status. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, though, she did open up about actually preparing to reprise her life-changing Star Wars role.

George R.R. Martin hints his next Game of Thrones spinoff could have a new title
A knight holds his sword as he walks down the street.

The next Game of Thrones spinoff might have a new title by the time it hits HBO.

In a new blog post, author George R. R. Martin wrote about his experience visiting the set of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, his next fantasy series at HBO. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is an adaptation of The Hedge Knight, the first novella in Martin's series Tales of Dunk and Egg. HBO has been advertising the series as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. However, Martin suggested that the name could change.

Every upcoming Game of Thrones spinoff you need to know about
Ser Duncan the Tall walks in a village in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

HBO's Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, wrapped up its second season earlier this month. The series isn't expected to return with its third — and apparently penultimate — season until 2026, meaning that viewers may have another two whole years to wait before they finally get to see House of the Dragon start delivering on some of the major moments that it has spent its first 18 episodes setting up. That doesn't, however, mean that Game of Thrones fans will have to wait two years to return to the franchise's fictional fantasy world.

On the contrary, HBO has a number of other Thrones spinoffs in development in addition to House of the Dragon season 3, including one that is filming right now. It may not, in other words, be long before viewers get to start making a lot more frequent return trips to Westeros, as well as the seas and lands that surround it.
