Watch videos for free with Samsung’s YouTube competitor Milk Video

While YouTube begins its grand experiment with paid subscriptions, Samsung is jumping into the video-streaming world with its own app for Galaxy devices. Milk Video is essentially an extension of the company’s recently released Milk Music streaming service.

Milk Video aggregates video content from all over the Web and categorizes it based on your preferences. The service has a strong social component and focuses on helping users discover new videos that they’ll love. Samsung signed up a bunch of video content creators to launch the app, including VICE, Red Bull, Vevo, Funny or Die, College Humor, Tastemade, AwesomenessTV, Refinery29, GQ, and more. The Korean company also promises that original series and exclusive content are on the way. Much like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video, Samsung hopes to gain users with the promise of videos they won’t be able to find anywhere else.

Milk Video is available in the Google Play Store, but it will only work on the following devices:

Galaxy S5
Galaxy Note 2
Galaxy Note 3

For now, the service is free and there are no ads, but it’s only available in the United States. Samsung didn’t say whether the Milk Video app will launch on iOS and become available to other Android users. The company also didn’t say whether it plans to turn Milk Video into a paid subscription service in the future, but that seems likely, seeing as Milk Music recently went down that route. Samsung just needs to build a user base first and convince those viewers that they can’t live without Milk.

Today is all about dealing with software delays. First, there's news that Apple users might have to wait a bit longer for Apple Intelligence to arrive with iOS 18 this fall. There's also news that Samsung's Android 15 beta may be later to release than we initially thought.

According to SamMobile, Samsung originally planned to release One UI 7 today. However, the release has been slightly delayed due to the public release of One UI 6.1.1 for the Galaxy S24 series.

The release of Google's Android 15 is getting closer, so Samsung is understandably also nearing the release of One UI 7 for its mobile devices. According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, beta testing for One UI 7 could start in just a few days. They explain that testing will commence before the end of July or in early August.

As noted by Android Police, once everything is in order with One UI 7, Samsung is expected to announce its features and make the firmware available for its Galaxy S24 series smartphones in the U.S. and South Korea. Subsequent beta releases will likely be available in other regions a few weeks later.
