OnStar isn’t just for breakdowns and directions anymore.
At the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, the General Motors subsidiary will preview a new commerce program called AtYourService, which will offer retail coupons, hotel booking, and restaurant incentives all from your car.
Thus far, the firm has announced relationships with companies like Dunkin’ Donuts, Priceline.com, and coupon providers such as RetailMeNot and Entertainment Book.
A worldwide parking map called Parkopedia will also be included with AtYourService, as well as e-book supplier Audiobooks.com. OnStar advisors will have access to a multitude of special offers and options for different merchants, and the network will continue to expand as the product rolls out.
“On the heels of our 4G LTE connectivity launch last year, OnStar will continually roll out powerful, simple ways to bring daily-relevant connected vehicle features like AtYourService to complement our foundation of safety and security technology,” said Mark Lloyd, OnStar consumer online officer. “We will continue to innovate in ways that make our customers’ time on the road more efficient and more convenient.”
The emergency, security, navigation, and diagnostic service is currently available in over 30 GM vehicles.
