HTC reveals entry-level Desire 320 at CES 2015

We’ll have to wait a while longer for the next HTC flagship, but the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer did take the wraps off a new budget device at CES this year. The HTC Desire 320 replaces the year-old 310 and offers a slight spec bump over its predecessor.

This chunky, entry-level Android smartphone sports a 4.5-inch LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It has the same quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek processor as the 310. There’s also a 5-megapixel camera, a simple 0.3-megapixel selfie camera, and 1GB of RAM. HTC has boosted the internal storage from 4GB up to 8GB and there’s room for a microSD card expansion (up to 32GB).

It runs Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC’s Sense UI on top. You’ll also find an FM radio built-in to the 320, and it has a decent-sized 2,100mAh battery. Color choices are limited to vanilla white and dark gray. That’s about all there is — sadly it doesn’t support 4G.

Precise release dates, details, and prices were not revealed, but it’s definitely coming to the U.K. and Germany and it’s sure to be cheap.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE is expected to launch sometime next year, most likely toward the end of the second quarter of 2025. We don't know a lot about the budget-oriented flip phone yet except that it's expected to use the Exynos 2500 chip. Now, another leak suggests it will keep the same display as the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Ross Young, a known tipster and supply chain analyst, responded to a comment on X and stated that the Z Flip FE would have the same panel as the Z Flip 6. For reference, that's a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with 2640 x 1080 resolution, a 120Hz variable refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 2600 nits.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is great, but many users have been plagued by bootloops for a year or more. The primary fix for this problem is to send your phone to Samsung for a replacement motherboard, although this comes at a cost since the S22 series is no longer under warranty. However, another Reddit user — u/HenryTan — shared an update that Samsung will cover the cost of repairs. It might be a matter of luck, but u/HenryTan suggests emailing the Samsung CEO for a faster response. They also admitted that being a Samsung Care member could have influenced the decision.
