Play Battlefield 4 this weekend to unlock more of Hardline’s beta

The “Heists” mode will be unlocked in Battlefield: Hardline‘s upcoming beta test if the community collectively scores at least 2 billion points in Battlefield 4‘s Rush mode this coming weekend. This special Community Mission is live right now and runs until midnight on Saturday, January 24.

Heist is one of the new gameplay modes described when Hardline was first revealed. The criminal team races to get into a vault or armored vehicle and then escapes to an extraction point with their loot while the police try to stop them.

You can see a Heist match in action below. Visceral has not yet provided a date for the open beta, which will be available on PlayStation, Windows, and Xbox platforms.

The challenge kicks off two months of “weekly treats with a Hardline flair” from developer Visceral Games in the lead-up to Battlefield Hardline‘s release on March 17. Subsequent weeks will offer bonuses like Gold Battlepacks, special dog tags, wallpaper, and more Community Missions like this one.

Battlefield 4‘s most recent downloadable content release, Final Stand, capped off a season of add-ons, but DICE, the series’ lead developer, has assured fans that Final Stand is not the end for new content coming to Battlefield 4.

When talking about the best RPGs you can play right now, The Witcher 3 is going to be brought up. In fact, odds are that it will even appear in most people's best games of all time list, and for good reason. Inspired by the book series of the same name, the first Witcher game is one of the best PC games, and has now become a household name thanks to the success of the Netflix show. However, after the third game, CD Project Red moved on to Cyberpunk 2077 and we were left wondering if we'd tossed our last coin to the Witcher.

It seems there are still more stories to tell in The Witcher universe, with multiple upcoming video game projects in the works. The most interesting, of course, is the next step in the story, which we're currently calling The Witcher 4. We've taken our potions, oiled up our blades, and are ready to hunt down all the information we know so far about this highly anticipated upcoming game.

While November has been a quieter month for Xbox Game Pass, this week saw three games launch on Xbox to the benefit of Game Pass subscribers. Before Microsoft started releasing video game consoles, it made flight simulators. This storied hardcore flying simulation franchise is getting a new entry this year, aptly named Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The latest entry in the Microsoft Flight Simulator series builds upon the strong foundation of its revival in 2020. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 not only sees improved environmental simulation, visuals, and physics, but lots of new content as well. There are now missions where players can participate in aerial firefighting, search and research, and more. While the appeal of simulators like this one is someone niche, those looking for a new flight simulator will adore this game.

One of the best games of the year is coming to PlayStation

If you're a sicko for challenging puzzle games with a striking art style and a dreamlike setting, you'll like Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. Players just got a new opportunity to play it too, as The Game Awards-nominated title is set to launch on PlayStation.

Publisher Annapurna Interactive announced Tuesday that the game will be releasing on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on December 3, so you'll only have to wait a couple of weeks to play it. It's already available on Steam and Nintendo Switch.
