Yelp just bought Eat24 so you don’t have to ‘cook, shop, or wear pants’

Seamless and GrubHub may be the undisputed champs of food delivery apps, but Yelp really wants to change that. In its latest bid to win over the hungry, hungover, and proudly lazy, Yelp bought Eat24, the food delivery service it partnered with back in 2013.

Eat24 may be the smaller brother of Seamless and GrubHub, but it still delivers food from 20,000 different restaurants in 1,500 cities across the U.S. In a blog post announcing the deal, Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman said Eat24’s “mission is to keep you from having to cook, shop, or wear pants,” which is a pretty accurate description of most delivery apps.

Yelp’s earlier deal with Eat24 allowed users to order food delivery from select restaurants through Eat24, but now the process will be more seamless (no pun intended). Yelp already has an extensive collection of reviews from average, ordinary people who like to eat out at restaurants, so now it will be easier than ever to get good food with just a few taps in one app.

Those who use Seamless and GrubHub will still have to go to Yelp to see reviews, and they may very well end up using Yelp’s new food delivery system instead. Hopefully, the two companies will integrate Eat24 into the app fully over the course of 2015.

Once more restaurants incorporate the food delivery service into their online ordering options, you’ll basically never have to leave your house for food again, though we do recommend keeping your pants handy for when the delivery guy shows up.

The Galaxy A56 may get one of the S24 Ultra’s top features
A person using the Samsung Galaxy A55.

Samsung may be ready to change one of the long-standing negatives about its otherwise desirable Galaxy A5x series phones — the charging speed. For the Galaxy A55’s replacement, currently expected to be called the Galaxy A56, Samsung may introduce 45-watt charging speeds, a big increase over the current 25W charging, according to a report originating in China.

The source is an official-looking certificate from the Chinese government’s Quality Certification Centre (CQC) which is responsible for ensuring devices sold in China meet the required standards. The phone is listed as the SM-A5660, and seeing as the Galaxy A55’s model number is the SM-A556, it’s not much of a stretch to assume we’re looking at details of the unreleased Galaxy A56. Apparently, the phone’s maximum 10V/4.5A system equates to a 45W charging speed.

I used a Wear OS smartwatch for the first time, and I love it
Someone wearing an Apple Watch Ultra and Pixel Watch 3 on different wrists.

Ever since the original Apple Watch, smartwatches as a whole have really taken off. Though Apple largely dominates the market, there are still plenty of non-Apple smartwatches to choose from.

I’ve been solely an Apple Watch user for the past decade, but I’ve been trying out a Google Pixel Watch 3 for the past couple of weeks. And, honestly, I kind of love it.
