All signs are pointing to a very rosy forecast for Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones. The latest estimate comes from a Taiwan-based research firm, which expects Samsung to ship a total of 55 million units of its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in 2015.

That 55 million mark is a 20 percent bump from the original expectations set by DRAMeXchange, a division of market intelligence firm TrendForce. In the first quarter of 2015, Samsung is expected to ship 4.4 million units of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge phones. In the second quarter, the South Korean technology giant will peak with 22.2 million units shipped, 5 million more units than DRAMeXchange originally estimated.

After Samsung debuted the two smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2015 earlier this month, the company “captured the imagination of the consumers with Galaxy S6/S6 Edge’s amazing features and specs,” according to Avril Wu, global smartphone analyst for TrendForce.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge boast a more premium build than their predecessors, as well as wireless charging, a scaled-back version of TouchWiz and an improved camera. The S6 Edge, of course, stands out even more because of its curved display.

Earlier this month, Taiwan-based news site TechNews reported that Samsung might have difficulty keeping up with demand for the Galaxy S6 Edge, due to the time and cost it takes to produce the phone’s curved displays.

Samsung started rolling out its One UI 6.1 update last week, bringing its Galaxy AI features to the Galaxy S23 series and other Galaxy phones and tablets. Unfortunately, it looks like the update is doing more harm than good.

Galaxy S22 Ultra with S22 Plus and S22.

The Galaxy S22 series, especially the Galaxy S22 Ultra, still features some great phones. But to get one now that the Galaxy S23 series is out, you would probably have to settle for a used one, and with that comes some uncertainty.

Samsung has the solution, as the entire Galaxy S22 series of phones has entered its official Certified Re-Newed program, and at lower prices than you would have originally paid.

Leaked render of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro.

It seems like an official announcement for the Motorola Edge 40 and Edge 40 Pro is just around the corner, but new leaks have already painted a clear (and flattering) picture of what fans should expect from the smartphones.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro, specifically, is shaping up to be an excellent device if the leaks are accurate — and it could be a surprising competitor of the excellent Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
