Fans of 2D action platformers have been eagerly awaiting the release of Mighty No. 9 since it was first announced in 2013. The brainchild of Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, the game is a spiritual successor to those games, which alone is enough to get many a gamer excited. Now, we finally known when we’ll get a chance to play it.

Two release dates were announced for Mighty No. 9 on the game’s official website yesterday. The game will be released in North America on September 15, and will be released in the rest of the world three days later on September 18.

If you’re wondering if the game will be available on the platform of your choice, the answer is very likely yes. While the game was initially announced for the PC and later the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii U, it will also be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as for Mac and Linux computers.

While every platform will see Mighty No. 9 in downloadable form, physical retail versions of the game will be additionally available for the PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U, published by Deep Silver. Portable versions for the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS will follow later on.

Fans who have been keeping a close eye on the game will notice that this is a bit of a delay from the spring release that was originally estimated by the game’s developer Comcept. Fortunately, the additional time is being put to good use. Additional Japanese and French voiceovers as well as subtitles in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Polish and Brazilian Portugese are being added.

Comcept also announced ‘Ray’ DLC that adds “an all-new stage including an epic battle with Beck’s rival Ray that, upon completion, unlocks Ray as a playable character for the entire game” according to a press release. This content will be included in retail editions, and like the language packs will be free for those who originally backed the project.

CD Projekt Red issued an apology following Cyberpunk 2077's rough launch. The developer says it should have paid more attention to the game's PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions and promised that fixes were coming.

The company tweeted an apology out on the same yellow announcement backdrop that became synonymous with the game's delays this year. The post apologizes for not giving players more transparency about the state of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game in the lead-up to its release.

With so many of us stuck at home, the video game industry has benefited as people look for ways to pass the time. As a result, it's a bit difficult to find a retailer with consoles in stock. Have no fear: We've combed through dozens of retailers to not only find ones with the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in stock but those that are shipping quickly.

Some retailers are prioritizing "essential" items right now, which means you could be waiting much longer than you would otherwise. Here are our picks for the best places to find the most popular consoles.
Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch has proven to be a stay-at-home favorite thanks to its portability -- you can use it as a console or a handheld -- thus the name. But it's also tough to find, and right now there are no retailers with consoles in stock at regular retail prices. We are noticing some consoles on eBay, but just a fair warning, they are being marked up quite a bit, unfortunately. We'll continue to watch retailers for new stock, and add a link as soon as we see it -- but if you can't wait, this is your only option right now.
