It’s official: The Muppets are returning to television.

Described as a “contemporary, documentary-style show,” this iteration of The Muppets appears to borrow liberally from the format of popular series like The Office and Modern Family with a mix of sitcom comedy and single-camera elements, and an affinity for breaking the fourth wall.

“For the first time ever, a series will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, breakups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires,” reads the synopsis for the series. “This is a more adult Muppet show, for ‘kids’ of all ages.”

The series will be co-written and executive-produced by Bill Prady (The Big Bang Theory) and Bob Kushell (Anger Management), and produced by ABC Studios and The Muppets Studio. Prady in particular has some history with The Muppets and Jim Henson’s creations, having worked as a writer on the original Fraggle Rock series back in 1987. He later earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for his work on the 1990 television special The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson and has worked on several shorts and special productions featuring Kermit and The Muppets over the years.

The Muppets will be the first television series to feature Kermit and the gang since Muppets Tonight ended its two-season run on ABC in 1998. Previously, The Muppet Show ran for five, critically praised seasons in syndication on U.S. networks, earning 21 Primetime Emmy nominations and winning the 1978 Emmy for “Outstanding Comedy-Variety or Music Series.”

The new series is just the latest example of the renaissance The Muppets have experienced in recent years, with the 2011 film The Muppets winning over critics and audiences alike and putting Jim Henson’s creations back in the mainstream spotlight. While the 2014 sequel Muppets Most Wanted earned a more modest return at the box office, it earned similarly rave reviews from critics.

ABC has scheduled The Muppets to air Tuesday nights at 8pm ET. The premiere date hasn’t been announced yet.

Can’t get into Throne and Liberty? New server cap limits may help
A group of fantasy warriors fighting a golem in Throne and Liberty.

Amazon's latest MMO Throne and Liberty released at the start of this month, but players have had a harder time getting in and playing than they did clearing old-school Naxxramas. The game has reached player counts of 300,000 at peak since its first day, but the servers have been overwhelmed by the load.

Many players report that they're unable to create a character or transfer servers. Considering that everyone has access to free server transfers twice a day during this launch window, not being able to take advantage of this perk kind of puts a damper on things. According to PCGamesN, Amazon Games has raised the character creation limits on select servers to make it easier for new players to join and existing players to transfer.

Samsung Galaxy Ring tipped to get two new sizes
The Samsung Galaxy Ring on someone's hand.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring almost immediately became an Oura Ring competitor due to its lower price, but there's a problem: it's only available up to size 13. If you have larger fingers, you might not be able to find one that fits comfortably. According to Max Jambor on X, that's soon going to be a thing of the past. The leaker claims that Samsung will announce Galaxy Rings in sizes 14 and 15 in the coming weeks.

When the Galaxy Ring first launched, it was available in sizes 5 to 13. That's the basic sizing standard in the U.S., but an increasing number of men have fingers that fall in the 14-15 range and need something slightly larger.

Get back to the office, Amazon tells its workers
An Amazon logo seen on the side of a building.

Amazon has told its corporate employees to come to the office five days a week starting in January as it seeks to finally end the hybrid working style that was adopted as a result of the pandemic.

Office workers at the web giant have been allowed to come to the office three days a week since June 2023, but Amazon CEO Andy Jassy told them in a message posted online that he believes “the advantages of being together in the office are significant” and he therefore wants to return to how things were.
