Skylanders and Disney Infinity. The game mashes up characters, locations, objects, and scenarios from a wide range of disparate franchises, such as Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, Scooby Doo, Doctor Who, DC Comics, The Simpsons, Lego Ninjago, The Lego Movie, Portal — basically any and every franchise that Warner Bros. and TT Games can get their hands on, which is already quite a lot, impressively rivaling the wide reach of Disney for its Infinity games.

Doc Brown will get his own Fun Pack for the game, along with the train from Back to the Future III, which will cost you about $10. The second half of the trailer shows of Doc within the game, flying around on his little train and getting into hijinks with Gandalf, Superman, and The Lego Movie‘s Wyldestyle. Each of these imported play sets will have its own activities for you to play with, but it seems like the real fun will come from mixing and matching the components — imagine Gollum behind the wheel of a time-travelling DeLorean, or Homer Simpson with a portal gun.

Lego Dimensions comes to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U on September 27 with the release of the Starter Pack. Additional Level Packs, Team Packs, and Fun Packs will be added through at least 2016, and perhaps beyond if the game catches on.

Christopher Lloyd will also be heard later this year in the upcoming King’s Quest revival from Sierra and The Odd Gentlemen, starring as the old King Graham, narrating the game’s events from his younger days. He will be joined in that game by actors such as Wallace Shawn, Zelda Williams, and Tom Kenny.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity has a new name and no microtransactions
Yasuke in Assassin's Creed Shadows fighting an enemy. He's dressed in his samurai armor.

Ubisoft quietly confirmed new details on Assassin's Creed Infinity, a hub that's set to launch alongside Assassin's Creed Shadows, on the franchise's official Reddit on Friday. It not only revealed that Animus Hub would be the official name, but that the rewards would be free.

The post was in response to a datamined leak (since taken down via DMCA request) that purportedly revealed a lot of information about the Animus Hub and how it would integrate with Assassin's Creed Shadows. Along with revealing the new name, we learned that the Animus Hub would include a battle pass with cosmetics that can be purchased with Isu Coins, the in-game currency. This led to people assuming that there would be microtransactions involved.
